excited to be taking dance class again
While work has been a constant throughout my adult life, sadly working out has not.
Some of my excuse is being too busy. Some of it is lack of staying dedicated. My one valid reason for stopping doing exercise is when I had knee surgery last year after a skiing accident.
Recently, I started going back to jazz dance classes. I'm ridiculously out of shape. And by that, I'm not talking about whether I'm fat or not. I certainly don't have a dancer's body shape. But I'm talking about how I don't have the muscle strength or the flexibility to be doing a lot of the moves the way they're intended.
I've been going to 1 - 3 classes a week, along with stretching out when I get a chance. I can already feel my energy picking up, and my body is craving healthier foods.
John's been an amazing influence in a lot of aspects of my life. Two nights ago he took a jazz class with me, and I had a really fun time. He's a lot better than me, but I love the teacher and can relate to what she's saying.
I need to try to fit in a ballet class now and then to work on my technicque, my turns and my leaps. Baby steps. :)
