As we continue our noble experiment, we've been recruiting a number of new faces to help bring you the best of what we've offered in the past as well as a lot more. To that end, we're continuing to make a push for new reviewers of toys and titles, the "cream of the crop" about to debut in the coming weeks. Having seen some of their submissions, I know that I'll have to continue working on my own material, adding in components you may have already noticed. One of the major upgrades of the reviews I write has been the screen captures like the one above. Let's face it, I can describe a gal endlessly but a single picture says it all; and gives folks a head's up more readily as to whether she may float their boat. I appreciate the supportive emails that have come in so far and will continue working on providing the shots taken from the actual releases (instead of the crystal clear shots several public relations people have offered). My reasoning is that fans want to know what the DVD looks like, not be sold on material unrepresentative of the movies I'm suggesting you rent, buy, or borrow.

The forums are another area where I think many of you will enjoy; the number of industry insiders growing to join our current level of ~5000 members, 120,000+ posts, and the ranks swelling each day. Like the entertaining blogs offered by hotties like Shane's World babe Megan
or our review staff, these wildly appealing contests in the forums and on our giveaway page
, we've only just begun. We're not competing with the gossip websites
, industry media
sources, or the troll filled hater websites either; our goals have remained constant about helping consumers find what they are looking for and providing the industry a sounding board to showcase what niche they are filling. The promise of the future is being fulfilled as several important interviews are lined up, others in the industry are preparing to provide exclusive content (yes, even pictures), and my own look at the enormous DVD set for Upload; a title being whispered about in the inner circles of the industry as the best of the year (pushing the envelope to the point where it sold out in days). My review should be up in a few days but as I've stated in the past, the quality of the review is far more important than getting it out first, another aspect of Xcritic that sets us apart from other places you could spend your time.
Brianna Love will always have a place to sit as long as I have a face!
If you'd like to join the team, by all means send an email to our editor but consider that spending some quality time in our forums is a good way to get noticed too. We welcome a variety of opinions and constructive criticism has long been appreciated as a means of helping us improve. Ultimately, such comments led to the formation of Xcritic; building on the wealth of experience we gathered at DVD Talk. We are going to start offering more toy reviews, looks at popular websites, and VOD content so getting in on the ground floor might lead to bigger and better things for those so inclined. 2008 is just around the corner and if you've been happy with what we've offered to date, you are in for a series of pleasant surprises given my insider access to what is being planned. The feedback so far has been largely positive and assisted us with prioritizing what to tackle first so keep it coming and we'll keep do our best to make the transition period less stressful.
