This is normally a pretty good stretch of months in my year. February has my birthday, Valentine's Day and it's a good sales month for porno.
March has March Madness and spring training baseball which leads into the baseball season getting underway in April. Oh and there's Wrestlemania, professional wrestlings biggest event of the year.
Well this year was super special because I'm hearing rumors of 2 GREAT events for the adult industry.
First of all, it seems that Leisure Time Entertainment will be closing down it's DVD operations. That's right the kings of the ripoff comp will no longer be flooding the DVD market with cheap, crappy compilations. I for one will not miss them. I've listened to too many customers complain and feel ripped off to feel any sympathy for them. I've seen too many stores fall for their cheap prices and overload their stores with crap product that no one wants. I've watched them try and change their name countless times to hide the fact that they own the single worst reputation in an industry filled with people with bad reputations. This doesn't even begin to mention the more sinister things I've read about the origins of the company. Because I can't verify any of those rumors, I'll leave those things to you to research.
As if that weren't enough to make my YEAR. I read that Future Works got sued by Phillips for refusing to pay licensing fees. I'm so shocked that a ripoff company like that wouldn't pay their bills. I hope no one in this world is really surprised by this. When you don't do business the right way, when you try to fuck over people to get ahead, when you rip off consumers to make a quick buck, eventually that shit comes back on you tenfold. The chickens have come home to roost for the owners of Future Works and Leisure Time. You had a good run. Now go away, never come back, and you won't be missed.
Man, I feel I've been blessed so much this year, but if I may be a little greedy here...next can we do away with Sunshine, Caballero and Maverick. Why what a wonderful world it would be, when the cheap ripoff comps have gone the way of the dinosaur.
Long live REAL new releases, honest packaging, and doing business the right way!!!
