The A-Rod of Porn: Randy Spears Director, Performer, a Man of Many Hats

In the twenty years plus that Randy Spears has been in the adult industry, he has excelled past anyone's expectations as both a Director and as a Performer. He became a Contract Star in 2006 and took to directing for Wicked Pictures, he also is directing and writing vignettes for Penthouse, he brings a different outlook to his films. He has appeared on many late night movies for HBO, Cinemax, and Showtime. Randy ventured behind the camera and has become an accomplished Director in the industry.

Randy Spears is a well known icon in the Adult Entertainment Industry. There isn't a person that hasn't seen his naked body and skilled tongue at work in a Wicked Feature or in a PlayGirl TV title. His success with Wicked and Penthouse has gotten the attention of many other production companies and networks that want to work with him. Randy has been in constant demand ever since he started, a force to be reckoned with.

Randy Spears ranks up there in a league of his own compared to the younger men out there. Definitely one of the better looking guys in porn that the women like working with. He brings a sense of class to the screen and has gotten better with time aging like a fine wine. From what I've  seen in numerous  titles, he  takes his  time seducing both the mind and body making  sure that he leaves the ladies he is  working  with more than weak in the knees.

At the Adult Entertainment Expo this past January, I got to speak with Mr. Spears for a bit about his work. Granted at first I was star- struck hiding briefly behind Don Houston. Later that week I got the opportunity to speak with him one on one. Randy made me feel very at ease with him during the short interview that day. Below are just a few questions that I asked him:

1-When did you start directing for Wicked Pictures?

This would be my third year directing with them and my third year under contract with them as well.

2- When you are performing, does your Director's side come out causing conflict for you on set?

Yes it does happen and it's difficult because I have to forget how the lighting looks and I have to have faith in my crew. I find it difficult to be an actor in one of my own films and I rather not feel that way.

3- How do you manage working for both Wicked and Penthouse, doesn't it take a toll on you?

It  does  keep me  very  busy and  Yes it  does take its  toll on me after awhile. I'm just a scheduling wizard. Every day I jot down what I have to do and keep to it.

4- What do you do to wind down after a long day on set?

I'm a sport's fanatic so when I'm home I'm watching sports. I'm  from Chicago so I  follow  all the home  teams. The Cub, White Sox's, Bears, and the Blackhawk's.

5- Do you enjoy doing both, being in front and behind the camera?

I still enjoy being in front of the  camera  as well, but at some point this year I will stop being in front of the camera and  focus on just  directing. That's my goal.

6- Do you enjoy doing the trade shows?

It's part of the job. Every year when we come to the show I know what to be prepared for and it's very taxing on you.

It was a pleasure to meet one of the icons of the adult industry and a great actor who keeps the ladies  constantly watching and wanting to trade places  with the ladies on your films!
