With the new award season underway from abroad to our shores, it is important to showcase one of the starlets who is very likely to get her share of the spotlight: Kayden Kross

Along with her current blockbuster The 8th Day as well as her strong performances in Flight Attendants, Swing Time, and Kayden's Frisky Business, Kayden is no doubt a front-runner. She is off to a good start with her win in October at the prestigious Hot D'or Awards in France for Best American Starlet.

Hi Kayden, how long have you been in the industry, what have been your most pleasurable moments so far? What has been your least pleasurable?

Hi there! I've been in the industry as a hardcore performer for three years now. One of my best moments was just this past weekend in Paris when I won best American Starlet... my least pleasurable moments all generally revolve around delayed flights and late wrap times but overall I can't complain.

How did you get into the adult industry?

I was a house dancer in Sacramento and I was approached to do nude modeling... it was a natural progression from there.

2009 has been an incredible year for your career. Currently, you are receiving much acclaim and praise for your performance in The 8th Day. You also won Best American Starlet at France's Hot D'or Awards in October. What does all of this recognition on your acting abilities mean for your career?

Hopefully it's going to mean more leading roles! I never thought acting was something I'd get into but since porn I've really come to love it.

You have so much sexual chemistry with your sexual partners on screen. What traits of a woman do you admire most? What makes a woman sexy? What traits of a man do you admire most? What makes a man sexy?

I like strength in men and women. There's nothing hotter than fighting for control with a strong person in bed.

What has been the biggest surprise for you about the adult industry?

Everything about the industry has been a surprise. I didn't know anything about it when I started modeling so I didn't consider it an option.... and just when I think I finally figured it out there is a whole new layer.

Are there any industry people (actors, actresses, directors, etc.) who you have not had the opportunity to work with yet and want to very badly and why? What would be your dream scene?

I would love to work with Rocco Siffredi and I'd love to have Ren Savant direct another one of my movies. I don't care about the details beyond that.

How were you as a kid growing up?

I was very shy. I read books on the playground. At home I was a tomboy. I was always climbing trees and bringing lizards home.

What are your hobbies and interests?

I still love books and horses. I like to write. When I moved downtown I bought a bike and now it's one of my new favorite toys. Then there is all the stuff that makes my job fun... acting, traveling, and world-class sex.

What is your favorite thing about being an adult performer?

There is so much freedom in this job. I have the obvious financial freedom, and then I can live anywhere I want and travel anywhere I want and twist my schedule around all of it. I feel like I was set free to go play in the world without the normal responsibilities that should be weighing me down right now.

Are there any web sites or future projects that you would like to promote? What are you currently working on film wise?

We'll be coming out with "Rawhide II" at the AVN show from Adam and Eve. That movie was another awesome acting role for me. This weekend we'll be getting the last details together for "Unbound" and we'll begin shooting Monday... and then yesterday I finally got to work with Lisa Ann for our websites thelisaann.com and clubkayden.com.
