Mia Gold interview

Since I enjoy writing a lot, I am always impressed by how so many adult starlets can write so succinctly as well as creatively. They really are not the dumb and dense people that many outsiders have stereotyped them to be. Mia Gold is a woman who can put down in words her own feelings and thoughts about her adult experience and make them enjoyable and thought-provoking to the reader. It's not a surprise that she has a bi-weekly column on the Porn Corporation website. I like that she is not allowing her film work to fully represent who she is as a woman. Porn stars have many sides to them. Mia Gold is someone who has many layers to her persona and I want to learn even more about her.

Hi Mia, how long have you been in the industry and how did you get into it?

I got into the industry 10 months ago. It has been a wild ride. I’ll tell you that. An ex boyfriend kept encouraging me to get into the business, so I did my research and met the right people.

What have been your most pleasurable moments so far? What has been your least pleasurable ones? 

Most pleasurable moments have been the marks of my success like having a great scene and starting to work with my agent Mark Spiegler and my publicist Erika Icon. My least pleasurable moments have been not being able to eat a juicy cheeseburger before the day of an anal shoot.

I enjoy watching you be paired up with an older woman? There is a lot of good heat being produced between you and your female partners. What traits of a woman do you admire most? What makes a woman sexy?

I love working with older women. I've had the pleasure of playing with Jodi West on a few occasions, and she is so much fun. In my opinion, older women tend to have a lot of passion and a strong sexual presence. I always say it’s all about the chemistry and finding a connection point. If they got it going on and have a positive attitude, that is all it takes. I admire a woman who has her own style and can bring honesty into the bedroom.

You also drive guys nuts. What type of guy turns you on? What makes a man sexy?

I like a guy who has a good head on his shoulders, keeps his cool, and is motivated. There's nothing sexier than a guy with a good sense of humor who can cook and clean. Also, if you’re into board sports, that’s a sure way to get my attention. I like a well-rounded package. Pun intended.

How does it feel meeting your fans? Do they recognize you in public? 

I enjoy meeting my fans and getting their feedback. This industry wouldn't exist without our fans. I've been recognized and I always make it a point to be friendly and get to know my fans.

How were you as a kid growing up?

I’m still growing up! Ha ha. I was a really good kid growing up; I was a bit of a responsible rebel. I was always in the top of my class, was in student council, varsity tennis and soccer, and went to a college during high school, but the rebel in me pushed me to graduate early and move to Mexico for a bit. I really embraced my independence.

What are your hobbies and interests? 

I have way too many interests! I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends. I work out a lot and paint and play music and just picked up the bass. I went to cosmetology school and enjoy cutting hair and doing make up in my free time.

If we saw you singing in your car, what songs would you be singing?

I'm always blasting my music with the windows down. I have a pretty eclectic taste in music, anything from house to blues to hip hop.

Many porn stars are animal lovers. Are you one and are you a cat or dog lover?

I definitely am! I have a cute little pup named Levi…and not for nothing, his porn name is "Brutus". He's packing some serious heat.

What is your shoe size?

6.5 to 7. I have a shoe fetish! I love my heels and boots. I also like to rock street sneakers.

What was the biggest surprise for you about the adult industry when you started?

I was surprised how professional it is. At first, I was hesitant, until I did my research and got involved with the right people. I've worked some conventional jobs, so it was an easy transition for me getting into the industry.

You do quite a bit of anal scenes. Is there any preparation that you do for those scenes beforehand to get yourself ready?

I usually eat very healthy and light beforehand and use enemas. I love enemas! They get the job done. Sometimes, I work in my booty before the scene, but other times I want an honest reaction, depending on the director I am working with.

Are there any particular industry talent (actors, actresses, directors, studios) who you want to work very badly with and why? What would be your dream scene?

I would really love to work more with Manuel Ferrara and Mick Blue. I think they are brilliant! Some studios I'd love to work more with are Penthouse and Hustler and hopefully one day I’ll shoot with Wicked.

What is your favorite thing about being an adult performer?

I love how open and honest the industry is. Porn has opened a lot of doors for Americans to sexually inspire and help express themselves and I love being apart of such a progressive industry.

Are there any web sites or future projects that you would like to promote? What are you currently working on film wise?
