Diet and hygiene.

its probably because girls are constantly told not to use soap to wash their 'noonoo' so woman only use water. thats fine if you wash every single day without fail. if you miss a coulple of days then go back to using water you will have a build up of bacteria that won't be removed with just water.

.............probably???

Not to use soap or the term "noonoo"?

Warm, moist environment = breeding ground for bacteria. Same reason your armpits, feet, and breath can be smelly if you don't wash enough. The bacteria eat dead skin cells and secretions, and produce waste products (read: poop) that contains foul-smelling compounds. A woman with poor hygiene has "smegma" made up of dead cells, secretions, bacteria, and the bacteria's poop.

I've only met one really smelly vagina in my time, and it was a really smelly vagina indeed!

It was about three days before I stopped smelling it

I have a theory based on skin pigmentation and hair color. The darker the hair the stronger the pu$$y smell. Girls with black hair usually had a stronger smell, and one in particular I absolutely coudn't go down on because the smell was so strong I just wanted to puke. Note that this had nothing to do with cleanliness. Brunettes and auburn hair were not as "smelly" and blondes tended to have very faint smell/taste and in at least two occasions no smell or taste whatsoever. I used to tell them they tasted like water. One blonde had a stonger smell but she wasn't a real blonde. My sample of redheads (2) is too small to be statistically significant. :)
I also find that black women tend to have a stronger smell/taste.

So, the lighter the hair and the fairer the skin, the better. :)

Bacterial Vaginosis (http://familydoctor.org/handouts/234.html)

What is bacterial vaginosis?
Bacterial vaginosis is a mild infection in the vagina caused by a type of bacteria (germ). The vagina normally contains a lot of "good" bacteria, called lactobacilli (say: "lack-toe bah-sil-li"), and a few other types of bacteria, called anaerobes. Too many anaerobes (say: "ann-air-robes") can cause bacterial vaginosis. We don't know why the anaerobe bacteria overgrow and cause this infection.

How do I know I have bacterial vaginosis?
You may notice a discharge from your vagina. The discharge may be clear or colored. It may be very light or heavy. It may have a fishy smell, especially after you have intercourse. Some women have bacterial vaginosis without any symptoms.

How can my doctor tell if I have bacterial vaginosis?
Your doctor will examine your vagina and use a cotton swab to get a sample of the discharge. This sample will be tested.

If this is an infection, did I catch it from someone?
No. Bacterial vaginosis is an overgrowth of bacteria that are normally in the vagina. While it's more common in women who are sexually active, it also occurs in women who are not sexually active. It's not usually necessary for your sex partner to be treated.

Does it have to be treated?
Yes. If the infection isn't treated, the bacteria may get up into the uterus or the fallopian tubes and cause more serious infections. Treating bacterial vaginosis lowers this risk. Treatment is especially important in pregnant women.

How is bacterial vaginosis treated?
It can be treated in one of several ways. Your doctor may prescribe pills for you to take by mouth, or a cream or gel to put in your vagina. It's important to use your medicine exactly as your doctor tells you.

If your doctor prescribes metronidazole (brand name: Flagyl) or other medicines, don't drink any alcohol while taking the medicine or for 24 hours afterward. Combining alcohol with these medicines can cause nausea and vomiting. Even the small amount of alcohol in many cough syrups can cause nausea and vomiting if you're taking metronidazole. Also, be sure to tell your doctor about any other medicines you are currently taking.

I now know more about vagina smells than I wanted to.

I would try the shower method- have some play time in the shower first :)

I'd have to disagree with that one. I've been there with a few asian/pacific islander girls, with darker skin and black hair, and they didn't smell at all. I think it has to do more with how much a girl sweats. The sweatier, the smellier.
