Hi All,

Other then the most popular forms of contraception (condom/pill) what are some other forms that Men can use and Women can use?

I heard there is a shot for women? Is there a shot for men as well? What about the Male pill, I heard that this was coming out soon - does anyone have any info on it?

Thanks for your help

The two you mentioned are the two best methods. All of the others are very outdated.

My fiance in Europe is on something called "The Rod".. It's similar to the pill, but it releases the hormones gradually into her body every day so she doesn't need to take the pill.. Also, it releases some hormone that causes her not to ovulate, so she doesn't even get a period, really.. Maybe a little light spotting at that time of the month.

This rod is placed in her arm near her bicep, and I believe it lasts 3 years. As far as I know, it's not available in the US as of yet, but I have heard that it will be coming here within the next couple years.

The best method:

Babysitting your 1-year-old nephew and 4-year-old niece at the same time! You don't want to see another kid after that.

There is a female condom, which prevents pregnancy by fitting snugly over the woman's wine glass.
