Does anyone know the name of the surgery men go over to stop having children?

Has anyone done it or hear is good?

a vasectomy (sp?) ? My boss had it done, he was given a local, a snip and a tie, and that was it.

When hubby got his done we went in on a Friday afternoon that way he could have the weekend to recover if needed. He had no problems after the surgery and went back to work Monday morning.

Usually, a urologist will administer local anesthesia, make a small incision in your scrotum, pull out the vas deferens from each testicle and make a little snip and tie off the ends (as bigsoos described), then sew up the incision.

BTW, the vas deferens is the structure that carries sperm from the seminiferous tubules and epididymis to the urethra, from where the sperm are expelled.

Following on what criptik28 has said......

Six weeks later you supply a sample for them to run some tests on in the lab. They call with the results.

Side note.....in the six weeks between the surgery and lab work you are supposed to use protection to ensure saftey.

the sperm is just a very small fraction of what you ejaculate
the rest of the fluids will still come out.. it just wont contain any sperm

Plus I hear it's easier to reverse in men than in women (tubes tied) if you meet some young Hot POA later in life ;)

Just put some on ice. I got some Joltsicles. Its only about $500 a year for storage. I know I will never ever procreate (nor should I) but its nice to have for peace of mind.

It's called a Vasectomy. And yeah it's no big deal and everyone should get one. It's best to get tested twice after your done, just in case. Once like a year after.

And it's much cheaper than paying child support I'm sure.

Seriously for those who have undergone, is there any difference in how the ejaculation feels? Was there any psychological issue as far as getting and maintaining an erection knowing you've been "fixed". Is there any discomfort during and after the procedure?

Absolutely not, no, and a little.

Youre a little uncomfortable for a few days after the surgery but nothing unbearable. And the surgery itself is less painful than most dentist visits.

What also bothers me is that it doesn't work right away.

I still have to wait two weeks or so until I get my self checked out.

What if in those 2 weeks I get the girl pregnant!? Then the surgery went in vain. Do I get a refund!?

It's semi-reversible. The longer you wait before the reversal the less chance of success. I waited 8 years and it didn't work out....

Not sure why *you* are worried about the taste. I wish I could answer the part of taste after the procedure, but I can't. I will, however, say this....I can't remember two guys ever tasting the same. The way a guy tastes is based on a couple of things including his diet. Some guys taste very salty and some don't. I remember reading an article a long time ago and it indicated (if I remember correctly) that the less salty the ejaculation is, the more it means something is missing from the guy's diet. Now I have not gone out and done taste tests, but it just does not taste the same to me from guy to guy. Don't worry about the ladies because I am sure they will not notice. Some guys taste really bland and others taste extra salty. I am almost positive they wo't know what you have had done. HTH.
