Everyone tells me I need to just go ahead and have sex and get it over with, so I won't be as nervous about it. One of them suggested I try something like adultfriendfinder and I'm considering. On the one hand, the semi-anonymity makes it a lot less scary for me, but on the other I'd hate to meet some psycho or serial killer or something.

So, anyone actually meet someone though a site like that and what is your opinion? Safe? Stupid? Should I try it or not?

Look, if you want to get laid them that is fine. But getting laid because your friends want you to get over being nervous is just wrong. Why have you held off so far? There must have been a reason. Everyone tells me I need to just go ahead and have sex and get it over with, so I won't be as nervous about it. One of them suggested I try something like adultfriendfinder and I'm considering.
