View Full Version : guys: an woman-a person or sex object firts?
Hi guys:
I always have this debate with my wife. Whenever guys see an woman, he first looks at her as a chick/sex object not as a person. What do you think guys? Please be honest..

ummmm....I dunno.
But whenever my wife talks about a woman she works with or is in one of her classes my first question always is, "Is she hot?" :D

well, if i don't know her, the only information i have about her is derived from what I see... and I use that information to decide whether or not i'd hit it.

I've met a lot of girls who were hot but after about a 10 minute conversation I'll lose total interest. I don't want to say sex object but I kind of put them in a neutral area till I talk to them for awhile.

Are we going to pretend that women don't do the same thing?

What a ridiculous position your wife has taken. When she sees a guy, is she really thinking, "I wonder what his thoughts are on Baudelaire." No effin' way.
When you see someone's physical self, you react to their physical self. Sometimes lust, sometimes disgust, maybe bewilderment, concern, etc. . . Anyone who says differently is a liar.
Well since I am generally looking for attractive women when I am not inside my house, I admit I judge by looks.

Looks...then if you like that...find out if she is cool.
If she isn't then just hit it from the back side.

If you're going to generalize, perhaps one could make the case that when a women sees a guy, she sizes up his bank account. No?

Gotta admit, when I see a woman for the first time... if they're attractive, I'm seeing them as a sex object. But then, that's the way we're programmed. That's what men do. Once you get to know them, sure, then you can view them as a real person. And as a sex object. Because the sex object thought never really goes away.
PS - "an" woman?

it depends on the guy and the girl. some guys objectify first. and some women look like they should be looked at like sex objects (ahem porn stars, cough cough).

If it's the first time we're encountering a person and before we've talked to them, how else are we supposed to see them if not by their appearance? Like someone else already said, it's how males are programmed. I try not to be a total dweeb and look a girl over from head to toe but if it's in a store or someplace like that and she's pretty, I tend to look at her, if I can without getting busted. And girls do the same thing with attractive guys, though they're usually less obvious about it. And girls don't seem to focus on "parts" as much as guys do and take into account faces more. I have a female friend who's just about as uncomfortable with her sexuality as any grown woman I've ever known and she's all the time saying this boy is cute or that boy is cute. I guess it's more a cute thing for girls and a sexy thing for guys.

as a highly sexual person with a huge sex drive, i have to admit that i DONT first think of how a guy would perform. i think holy sheeit, that guy is hot! but i dont think about bagging him. but you show me someone with large hands and my first thought is about his penis, regardless what he looks like. i dont associate good looks with good sex so i dont think about how a guy will perform when i first see him

The inital interest is purely physical for me, but if after talking for a few minutes it becomes clear that the girl is not my type and or a complete moron, I'll make a speedy exit.

I think everybody looks at the opposite sex as sex objects first. Because we're all strangers until we get to know each other. So naturally you'd like the person you'd like to spend time with to be physically attractive to you. And since we can't see inside each other the first thing we see is the person's physical appearance.
I think that's one of my first serious, thought out postings here. I have to lay down for a second...

A good looking women I am willing to talk to. A ugly women on the other hand, I do not want tonwaste my time talking to so I will not.
But a wife must understand that even if you are attractedto other women, that does not mean you love them.
I wouldn't want to threadcrap or anything (no.....) but let me just say this thread might just contain some of the dumbest posts in the history of DVDTalk.
In a year you might see a couple of million women and the first thing you think of when seeing all of them is having sex? Someone call the men in the white coats.
