Romantic get aways for the weekend?

Every now and then we like to get away and spend the weekend, well you know ;)

What are some good ideas for a get away. We live in a historical community so there are tons of bed & breakfast inns everywhere. What do you guys do for your intimate getaway?

Catalina Island
Cabin at Big Bear
Driving up Highway 1 and camping at a state park. It's so beautiful.

Well were are looking at a weekend drive probably. We live in Virginia so Vegas and Cali is out of the question :D

if you are in virginia, would asheville NC be too far? we stayed at a mansion/b&b there once. it was awesome.

The misses has to go to Winston-Salem for a week of training next week. Maybe I'll have her look them up.

Two things we do.......

1. I tag along on the end of his business trips and we spend some quality alone time

or

2. I ship the child to Grandma & Grandpa's for the weekend. We end up having a all nude all the time weekend!!

Splurge on the best suite at the local hotel/villa. The money you spend on traveling to some other place could be put to that deluxe suite. Plus, you have the added benefit of recalling memories of the time spent there every time you drive past. ;)

There are tons of places in the Poconos if you are willing to drive. They have the rooms full of mirrors, heart-shaped tubs, even champaign glass tubs.

Candle Light Motor Inn on 114 in Middleton...

They rent by the hour. NICE! ROMANTIC!

We're actually debating on going whitewater rafting in the beginning of August. The place we normally go http://www.aceraft.com rents Chalets for the weekend. They have hottubs :D
