condoms that don't smell

ok, i usually only lurk around here, but i now have a reason to post.

the other night my SO and i were having sex and the condom we used smelled terrible! the smell of latex or "rubber" was so bad that we almost had to stop. it was a trojan brand but we've had the problem before with others (just never this strong). any suggestions out there????

are you sure it isn't body chemistry thing?

Maybe the the lubricant? Maybe you two are a bit sensitive?

dont think so, we've been together for 8 years. the smell never bothered us that much but after that one experience the other night i want to find something that is less harsh...

well, I guess you can use the new non-latex condoms made from poly-somethingorother. However, they're still testing these condoms and they mostly recommend sticking with latex unless one of you is really allergic to latex material.

I won't even recommend LAMBSKINS(my personal favorite) because they also have a strong scent.

And do not forget that usually those non-Latex-kinds are not offering any protection from STDs - they're usually just blocking sperm.

Dude, I feel you. I've been trying to figure this out too.. This irritates me to no end too.. I think I've even been driven to stop before, that's how bad my gf and I hate it.

I know that there are flavored condoms. I assume that they do something to mask the latex odor, so it doesn't overpower the flavoring. I've never used one myself.

well, my post didn't give the entire story, as it is about my sex life and i didn't feel the need to explain everything. but since i must, i must...

we had a scare back in august so once we got past that we used a condom the next time (said moment we've been discussing). since then we've gone back to not using them. so, everyone's still happy :D it doesn't suck for him.
