View Full Version : Which movies depict graphically the "miracle of birth" ???

Hey Gang ..

I recently had the questionable experience of 'enjoying' the french film "romance" http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0194314/ and what really got me was that, although they showed the cut 84 minute US version (so glad the movie was not any longer) .. they left in a scene very graphically, full frontal, showing a lady giving birth ... I think that there are many dads out there who rather stayed around the wife's head area to not see that ....

I was just shaking my head why they cut e.g. a blow job scene .. and leave this in ... It was also the first time that I have ever seen that on film ... I sure did not feel very romantic for a couple of hours ...

any one know of other occurances ?? and no .. the animated version in "the meaning of life" does not count :)

This may not qualify, but I think there's a short shot of a birth at the begining of "Adaptation" during Charlie's monologue. At least I remember seeing it on the DVD. It's a quick cut though maybe 1 or 2 seconds, but nevertheless, it surprised me when I saw it.

Isn't there that video that everyone saw in health class? I think it was called <B>The Miracle of Life</B> or something like that. Geez, that was graphic as hell. After showing the baby coming out, you see the placenta coming out. That was nasty.

I remember watching this as a HS sophomore. One of the jokers in the class got a hold of the remote control, and we had to keep seeing the baby's head prairie dogging through the slit before the teacher [BANNED] him from class that day. :lol:

On a similar note, during rotations, I helped deliver a baby. While I was holding the slimy thing, they handed the father a pair of scissors to "get him involved." He cut the umbilical cord in such a way as to spray my entire face, hair, and mouth with bright red blood. :yack:

The movie Indian Runner has a scene with a baby coming out of the you know what. It is supposed to be Vigo Mortenson and Patricia Arquette's characters baby.

Definitely missed that day because of a doctor's appointment or something - and glad of it! Seeing that happening would definitely scar me for life. I'd be like, "Wait, you want me to lick where?"

i Recall that way back when in hish school my GF and the girls only got to see that sex ed movie ... she said that even she was grossed out .. and the she believes if they made the guys watch it, they never would want to have sex again ... with a woman ...
