Adult DVD shipments to Texas

Does anyone know why DVDPlanet will not ship adult DVDs to Texas? All I got from them was that this is their policy. Adult material is readily available all over the state, and no one else I've ever ordered from has refused to ship here. In fact, I ordered from DVDEmpire --right after Planet refused to ship-- and had no problem.

If you ask them, they will likely give the party line about prosecutions in Texas that Empire gives. Empire won't ship to limited areas of the state though and Planet just simplified the whole matter by cutting out the state.

On the up side though, there are dozens of other companies that want your money if Empire doesn't have something you want (I've been a long time customer of Empire as they earned my loyalty time and again but they don't ship directly to Houston...) and Planet refuses to ship to you. Companies view exposure to bad press or legal matters in their own way so some variations will always be present.

Given the "community standards" doctrine you'd think they would ship to Houston, Austin, and Dallas, and stay away from some of the smaller communities. I guess the real "community standard" is set by the local prosecutor instead of the "community."
