Just curious, it isn't the one in Chicago is it?

My only advice I guess would be to not be judgemental. You'll probably get a lot of things that might not be your thing. I'm sure your employer will give you advice if they are good managers.

I've worked at a couple different porn stores in the past. If you have to work retail, it's the best kind of place to work. Very casual, the managers were extremely easy going, could listen to any music I wanted to, got free porn, and we didn't have to put up with any of the customers' shit (the whole "customer is always right" bullshit never applied at the porn shops I worked at). And yes, you end up with a lot of stories to tell.

My only advice I guess would be to not be judgemental.

That part is very true. It's the one job where you end up knowing every customers' sexual interest. For example, if you would feel uncomfortable with a guy dumping a bunch of gay porn on the counter for you to ring up, maybe it's not the job for you. You have to be very open minded, and be able to keep a straight face when people buy the really freaky shit.

Not sure of your career aspirations, but will you be putting this on your resume.... Yes, retail is retail, but to those uptight middle Americans and 99% of the rest of the US working at a porn shop is kinda wierd

The good news is that you're going to know that any hot babe that comes into the store is going to be pretty "openminded" - so you're halfway home!

As one who makes their living in the porn world, I don't envy you...one of the advantages of having an INTERNET job in porn is that you don't have to meet the customer face to face. The majority are as normal as you or me (or maybe just you!), but I'm sure the term "freak of the week" will take on a whole new meaning with your new job. :)
