This may have been asked before if so sorry..On the softcore cable movies that are usually shown on Cinemax and the other cable channels are the sex scenes simulated? Some appear to be so but some are very tough to tell. Does anyone know if cable is allowed to show actually sex? I know we will never see insertion or money shots, but is the sex real? Any info would be appreciated!

On Cinemax, I've seen simulated as well as hard core stuff that were shot with cameras at angles so you couldn't see the good stuff. The pay per view stuff should be hard core. But I guess that depends on your location and community standards. I remember DirecTV never showed money shots for a long time.

I haven't seen any softcore for a while, but all of the stuff I've seen has been simulated intercourse.

I've often wonder what, exactly the rules are in regards to broadcast. I find it odd that the Playboy Channel shows full penetration (but no anal or orgasms) after 11PM but not before; they replay the same movie the next day edited (well, MORE edited, really). Except for the Amateur show. Why is that an exception?

What's REALLY strange is that the cable Movie Channel (TMN) here in Ontario shows porn (usually pretty lousy stuff, though) on the regular movie channel from midnight-2 AM and they always leave the anal scenes in. They still edit out the orgasms, though. I've never seen the Spice Channel.

Are these arbitrary rules set in place by the channels themselves or are there international broadcast standards? Of all the stuff to cut out, why the orgasm scene? I always feel sorry for the aliens that must be watching this stuff from outer space. Well, them and the young kids who watch this stuff. If I'd grown up watching porn with no orgasms I'd be MIGHTY confused. The whole concept of sex must be inexplicable. People keep doing this stuff, but there's no obvious motivation.

a bit like 'scratching your itchy toe with boots on' :scratch2: - totally pointless (unless the film in question is a true 'Softcore film' like the "Story Of O" or the "Emmanuelle" series of the 70's....recently I watched the R rated version of Marilyn Chamber's 'Insatiable' (made in 1981-2?) and it was a thoroughly insipid and forgettable experience, I have also seen the R rated version of the classic "Deepthroat" :chainsaw: - now that's as pointless as pointless gets! :crap:
