VIVID TO MOVE AHEAD WITH DISTRIBUTION OF KARDASHIAN SEX VIDEO

“Kim Kardashian Superstar” to be in Stores by March 21 Despite Lawsuit and Meeting with Ms. Kardashian


LOS ANGELES - (March 8, 2007) – Vivid Entertainment has decided to move-ahead with distribution of “Kim Kardashian Superstar,” the sex video she made with her “co-star,” indie hip hop recording artist Ray J. Steven Hirsch, co-chairman of Vivid, the world’s leading adult film studio, said he decided to ship the DVD to retailers across the country and it will be in stores by Wednesday, March 21st.

“I met with Kim yesterday and unfortunately, we didn’t even come close to reaching an agreement. We will now immediately move forward with the release. We still remain open to any further discussion with Kim as we would like her to benefit from sales of the DVD,” said Mr. Hirsch. “We’re also posting a new preview clip from the title starting next week on www.kimksuperstar.com,” he added.

On February 26th Mr. Hirsch had announced that he would temporarily halt distribution of the DVD after her Ms. Kardashian’s attorneys filed a lawsuit against the company on February 21st. At the time, Mr. Hirsch said he would try to set up a meeting with Ms. Kardashian but he also said he was confident that Vivid had a legal right to distribute the DVD of the video.

Vivid paid an unidentified third party $1 million for the now-famous video, which was made three years ago when Ms. Kardashian was dating Ray J. It features well-produced scenes of explicit sex with the two young and glamorous high profile celebrities. The sexy Ms. Kardashian, who counts Paris Hilton as her best friend, is the daughter of O.J. Simpson lawyer Robert Kardashian. Her mother is married to Olympic Gold Medalist Bruce Jenner.

Howard always comes up with the best quotes. I need to read his press releases more often. As far as offering a heads up on your titles, keep in mind that a single thread will work better and no matter what you say or how you say it, some people will be grumpy (it's the nature of the internet) so don't take it personally. As far as I'm concerned, you can get all your directors and contract performers to post a few messages a week to generate publicity and good will; I will hopefully get to see the KK title when it comes in (fingers crossed but if I do, it will go to the top of the stack).
