Porn's Best ACTRESS?

Over the years I've seen a few pornstars who I thought would be able to get small roles in mainstream films due to their acting abilities if not for the "taint" of being labeled a pornstar.

Janine Lindemulder jumps to mind 1st. She always brings the heat sexually in her films but I always thought she gave believable performances playing her characters as well.

I'm not saying she'd be winning awards or landing 2nd or even 3rd leads in mainstream films but I think she could play limited supporting roles well. She's just a natural in front of the camera and really seems to care about her characters' inspirations and backgrounds.

Anyone have any other pornstars they think would be able to carry roles in mainstream films based solely on their acting chops?

Jeanna Fine comes to mind. On the male side, there was Steven St. Croix and Jon Dough.

Females I would have to say Savanna Samson and Eva Angelina there are a few more but for the life of me I cant remember their names.. I would have to look at the covers to see te faces.. Men.. hmmm thats not an easy call.. If you are talking performance wise.. then I would have to say :

This might be wandering just a tad off-topic, but I was just channel surfing and ran across a show called "My Bare Lady" on the Fox Reality channel. What does this have to do with this topic? Well, the basis of the show is to take 4 porn stars (Nautica Thorn, Susan Knox, Chanel St. James and Kirsten Price) and train them to act in a British production of a Shakespearean play.

Might I add, if you are given the chance to watch this show, DON'T!!!

The best ever, IMHO, was Georgina Spelvin, she of The Devil in Miss Jones fame. She was a Broadway and Off-Broadway performer, as both a dancer and with speaking roles, before getting into porn and if you check her Wikipedia entry, she won an acting award, either actress or supporting actress, from the main adult film industry awards body every year that she was a performer. And that was back when they were still trying by and large to make movies, cheap or lousy notwithstanding, instead of gonzo or all sex films like the majority of productions are today so there were some real trained actresses sprinkled into the mix. What I'm saying is the competition was harder back then, making her awards a little more meaningful from an acting standpoint than ones given today.

In more recent times, I've always been a fan of Aurora Snow. Aside form being insanely good looking, she's also quite bright and her performances, her acting performances, carry a real vibe of intelligent perversity that is a huge turn-on for me but that also makes her fun to watch just from an acting perspective.

I haven't seen a whole lot of Georgina Spelvin..perhaps 3 or 4 titles. But from what I've seen, she seemed to be performing for stage and not film. She's just too dramatic and unrealistic. She definitely had style and charisma, but too campy for my tastes.

I saw some straight-to-video mainstream thing she did from the late 80s. It was laughable because she was so over-the-top. Granted, it was a pretty ridiculous movie anyway. Maybe she decided "Fuck it," and purposefully hammed it up.

Actually, I saw that show and SASHA Knox was actually a very good actress... I hadn't even seen her adult work yet. Boy was I amazed at the shit she did on film! lol... on the show she seemed very "normal" for lack of a better word.

She is since retired from adult films at the ripe ol' age of 22 (back in 2006 according to her wiki entry)

Hm. After doing a bit of research on Ms. Knox, it seems to be that she stopped doing porn not too long back, for mental health reasons.
