2007 Empire Awards Nominees Announced
Warrendale, PA (February 1, 2008) – Adult DVD Empire, five-time winner of the AVN Award for Best Retail Website, is happy to announce the nominees for the eighth annual Adult DVD Empire Awards. This yearly competition takes time to recognize the standout Adult DVD releases from 2007.
The mission of the Empire Awards is to celebrate and recognize Adult DVD products and studios that go above and beyond the average adult production - not only is the content of the DVD considered, but also the video and audio quality, as well as the overall presentation of the movie on the DVD format. ‘Best DVD Extras’ and ‘Best DVD Commentary’ are two prime examples of Empire Awards that honor Adult Movies for more than just the hottest sex and stars. This year’s Empire Awards features two brand new categories – ‘Best Amateur DVD’ and ‘Best HD DVD’ – both of which have become increasingly popular with Adult DVD Empire’s customers over the past year.
The nominees for the ‘Best Overall DVD Studio’ include Digital Playground, Elegant Angel, Evil Angel, Hustler, Jules Jordan Productions, Vivid, Wicked and Zero Tolerance - a stellar collection of the finest in adult content, production and presentation. The most nominated studios overall include Wicked with 22 (not including the two nominations for Marc Dorcel, which is distributed by Wicked), Vivid with 14 (Vivid-Alt also received one nomination) and Digital Playground with 11 nominations. Wicked’s Operation: Desert Stormy was the single most nominated title with a total of eight nominations.
The winners of the Empire Awards are determined by the votes of Adult DVD Empire in-house reviewers, staff, and select outside reviewers as well as notable industry people. The Viewer’s Choice Award is open to any and all who would like to vote, and the nominees are as follows: Digital Playground’s Babysitters, Pulpo’s Black Worm, Wicked’s Coming Home and Operation: Desert Stormy, Vivid’s Debbie Does Dallas…Again and Layout, Hustler’s InTERActive, Zero Tolerance’s Interactive Sex with Jenna Haze, X-Play/Hustler’s Not The Bradys XXX, and Sex Z Pictures’ Upload.
