Man Pays £8,400 for Sex with Virgin Student

A lesbian student who auctioned her virginity on the Internet today admitted to having sex with a man for £8,400.

Rosie Reid, 18, met the five top bidders in February and finally chose the 44-year-old after assessing their suitability.

The Bristol University first-year social policy student said she needed the money to pay her university fees.

Miss Reid, from Dulwich, south London, “sobbed” after sleeping with the man.

“It was horrible ... it felt very uncomfortable but it was over quite quickly I suppose,” Miss Reid told the News of the World.

“I felt very nervous and scared but it was understood that if I felt uncomfortable at any stage then I could just leave.

“It didn’t feel like it was happening to me, I felt like I was watching it happen to someone else.

“I was just so relieved it was over, all I wanted to do was go to sleep.”

After the man left Miss Reid said she climbed onto the bed in the hotel room and “cried and cried”.

Her spokesman said she received hundreds of bids from around the world after putting her virginity up for sale, first on eBay and then on her own web site.

It is understood the highest bidder was a BT engineer from south east London.

She told the newspaper she felt “obliged” to go through with her offer as he had paid so much money

I have aboslutely no problem with selling sex -- it's more noble than the bar scene anyway -- but this girl was foolishly setting herself up for some serious emotional scarring. It's her choice, though ... hope it was worth it.

$15,000 is just stupid, though.

Besides, the idea of simply seeing a lesbian named Rosie naked makes me want to puke.

I remember reading about her putting it up for auction a few months ago, never imagined it would actually end up taking place. Some people can sell their bodies without thinking twice, some can't. Reading what she said, obviously she couldn't. What she described sounds a lot like stories you hear from rape victims.

The episode of dissociation means this is going to end up costing her far more than $15,000 in therapy over the years. I feel bad for her, because it's going to haunt her for the rest of her life. But she should have known what she was getting into, most people have the brains not to voluntarily get involved in such a situation when they know they probably can't handle it.
