I just read about how a drug, dapoxetine, is being studied that treats premature ejaculation, supposedly extending a man's intercourse time from 55 seconds to three minutes.

Three minutes still seems awfully short to me.

Which got me wondering - How long do most guys last?

For me it depends on on many factors, but an average session might find me taking between 10 and 15 minutes from insertion to climax. If it's a special night and we are making a big production out of it, it could be an hour or more, but there is a whole lot of stuff going on in there, including restful moments. I have my quickie moments, too, but then that's vital for a quickie. Oh, btw, I'm 37, married, overweight, and fairly experienced.

depends completely on position and situation. i'm married with child so the quickie is definately a necessary part of our routine, and that can be a minute or two. otherwise, it's probably in the 5-8 minute range of real actual fucking. 2-5 if it's doggy style or anal - the visual factor shortens those dramatically, but how can you not look?

When I was younger, 16 - 20, I could go for an hour easy. Now that I'm in a stable relationship, having sex with the same person, I'd say..oh around five - 10 mintues of actual fucking. That's if I look straight at the head board and don't think about it. Now, if I do that, well, three mintues and I'm done. It also depends on position, if she's on top, I can go quite awhile. If I'm on top or behind and controlling the pace, well, I lack self control!

Varies... new woman i'm usually a bit more excited and don't last as long... say 5 minutes (has been less at times) have gone for ~hour but that's just too much and usually praying for orgasm by then... Usually take care of the woman first so I don't have to worry about that and just try to enjoy.

Reminds me of a girl in a class I was taking (with my girlfriend, now wife, so I couldn't hit on the other girl of course) who was complaining to another girl that she can't find a guy who can last more than 10 minutes.

For me, normally, 15 or 20 minutes, basically as long as my wife wants. When I was younger and dating somebody who could also last, I would go for 45 minutes or an hour.

I seem to have a required "warm up period" that lasts about 10 minutes from when I get hard. For a million dollars I probably couldn't finish within 10 minutes. Of course, if there's other stimulation before insertion for 10 minutes, then I'm ready to bust at any time.

Seriously though, depends on if there's foreplay involved. If there is, i'm usually going about 5 minutes or so. W/o I can usually go 15 minutes or so. If there's drinking involved, I could go for hours.

I was listening to this morning show here in LA, the one with Danny Bonaducci and that loud ass blonde on Star 98. Anyway, she was saying how she takes it as a HUGE compliment when a guy can't last that long. She felt that it was his way of saying "you made me so hot and you made me feel so good I couldn't hold it back".

I guess I can see her point to some degree.

im all over the fuckin map.. Sum days i am praying for an orgasm after an hour of doing it..Other days I barely finish her off then i pop. So sumtimes an hour and sumtimes 5-10mins or less. And I will admit theres that rare occaisoin where its im in, and im done hhaha. Im hoping for the happy medium half hour one day..
