Default Is it that easy for guy to find a job in Adult Industry?

There are some websites like adultstaffing etc. Is it that easy to find a job as a model in porn?

Any experiences?

Thank you

It sure would...but I want to work at that "job". I want to have fun. I really want to become an actor. It will help me to forget what I have seen in Iraq - I just came back from there - was serving in Marine Corps.

I can see it now.....

Loverboy starring as a disillusioned veteran we no longer feels at home in his own country.

He spends his time travelling the country trying to exercise his demons by fucking girls from every state. Only after banging 50 girls is he able to put his mind at ease.

I call it America the Bootyfull

Your best bet would be to find a female friend that is also interested, and have you be her 'exclusive' partner.

As noted above, the "secret" for males wanting to get into adult is to have a super-hot girlfriend who is willing do do anything on camera, yet only work with you. Otherwise, you're out of luck...too expensive for directors to waste time on new talent who may not be able to "rise" to the occasion. And no, they don't care how "big" it is - if you can't cum on cue (with a half dozen hairy men with lights and cameras inches from your body), you're not going to get work.

This has been a public service message from a dude that knows WAY too much about porn.

Have a nice day.

As much as I love porn I don't think I could ever work in the industry. I don't think i could handle being around that much sexuality all the time no matter how "Cold and professional" it may or may not be.

Well, can you stay hard for hours? 'Cause if so, then you might have a chance.

But if you want to get into that business for the fun aspect, you're probably barking up the wrong tree. Just from what I've heard from male pornstars, it's not as fun as it looks, and it's not as easy as getting paid to have sex with "hot chicks." You have to have serious stamina, and you don't always get the stimuli on the set that can keep you hard.

If your main reason for wanting to get into porn is because you want to be an actor, become a real actor (film, television, theatre work.. anything *but* porn.) It's hard work in itself, but you get the opportunity to escape from the real world, detach yourself, and live out a life that you normally wouldn't. And if you can detach yourself that well, you have a chance to be really good at it. Sure, there's the whole "drawing on real experiences" aspect, but honestly, it's more about turning into the character you're portraying rather than anything personal. Since that's what you're looking for, to forget what you've seen, then this might be the perfect opportunity for you. Of course, if you're playing heavy parts where the character has serious issues, then you have to take on more problems then you might have in real life. You might have to work yourself up into states of anxiety and pain that are really difficult to handle. But, it's the whole being able to detach yourself thing. You then have to detach yourself from being that character.

But, that's method acting. You can also be a technical actor and just "go through the motions." (Not a jab.. that's just the best way I could describe it. Technical actors can be great, too.) But, I'm only speaking through what I know, and for parts that aren't bland scenery (like a store clerk or any other minor part with no back-history) it's more convincing to go method... if you can.

Unless you can get it up for anyone and keep it up endlessly. Then maybe porn is for you.

By the way: Thank you for your service in the Corps.

That isn't true. There are plenty of technical actors who can give just as convincing performances as method actors, without the emotional baggage of actually putting themselves through the pain of the character.

However, I agree wholeheartedly that if your goal is to become a real actor, stay away from porn. Even Ron Jeremy can only get bit parts in non-porn films, because producers generally don't want to associate their film with porn.

Hence my "Not a jab.. that's just the best way I could describe it. Technical actors can be great, too" comment. And the "more convincing" comment. But, everything I said is only opinion (as most of everyone's posts are) and yours may vary. I guess most of it stems from being taught "technical" and having learned almost nothing that has helped me from it - And seeing so many people up-close who go by the book and are absolutely horrible. (Not that method can't go terribly wrong, also.) It depends on the person, I guess. Either you can act, through whatever process you do it through, or you can't.

I'd like to use Ron Jeremy for something someday. He's really fuckin' funny. Then again, we don't care about what we're associated with.

Well, it was the "more convincing" that bothered me, because I think the quality of the performance is determined by the actor, not the technique. But I think you got to that point, anyway.

And yes, Ron Jeremy would be a lot of fun.

If you think most of the guys in porn can get it hard and stay hard for hours w/o drugs you are fooling yourself...

Mr Marcus gave an interview on the Wendy Williams show. Hes married
to a non porn chich and has 2 kids..

What does he say to his wife on the way to "work" in the morning?

"Bye hun, todays gonna be a busy day at the 'office' Im going to have
anal sex with 6 different women today that are young enough to be
my daughter! When I ejaculate on there face I'll be thinking about
you and the kids"

I agree. They use Viagra and similar drugs all the time. On one of those "behind the scenes" shows on HBO or one of the other cable channels they were talking to porn stars and I think one of the girls said they do so many minutes with him hard and penetrating, some many miniutes with him faking the scene where you can't see the penetration so he doesn't need to be heard, and so on. She actually mentioned a name for it.

So just like a fat old actors chasing bad guys for several minutes in movies without being out of breath...it's all about the editing.

I'm going to sidestep the question a bit and refer to the thread title instead: "Is it that easy for (a) guy to find a job in Adult Industry?"

Yes, it is. Considering some of the half baked goofballs currently employed by the industry, someone with half a brain should be easily employed... behind the camera.

Now, if you want to perform in front of the camera, that's another story but many have started behind the scenes and ended up participating before long. Having a super hot girlfriend sure doesn't hurt but I've seen some of the gals that have brought their male partners into the business with and let me tell you, they weren't all that great looking (and they weren't anything special on camera either).

If you're a guy and you want to make money, go into gay porn. Only place in adult industry where guys make the big bucks.
