Default Vivid-Ed's Award-Winning Tristan Taormino Will Speak at Three Universities This Month

LOS ANGELES – (April 11, 2008) – Fresh off her win at the 3rd Annual Feminist Porn Awards and the release of her latest Vivid-Ed movie, Ms. Taormino hits the road for a college lecture tour. The Vivid Entertainment director has a busy month planned: she will speak at three different universities this month alone.

On April 16, she'll give a lecture titled "The Path to Sexual Empowerment," at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee as part of the Student Union's Spring Sexpo Series. "The talk is about what it means to be sexually empowered, and I share my own journey which has been heavily influenced by my work in the adult industry," says Taormino.

On April 22, she heads to Willamette University in Salem, Oregon where she and renowned director Candida Royalle will participate in the interactive panel "Pornography: Scandalous or Feminist? Female Directors Share Their Perspectives." Both women will be showing clips of their films and discussing their different viewpoints about porn.

Tristan will then travel to the University of California/Santa Barbara to speak to Professor Constance Penley's film class on April 23. On April 25, she's a featured speaker on a panel entitled "Sex Work in Academe and the Industry" as part of Console-ing Passions 2008: An International Conference on Television, Audio, Video, New Media and Feminism; UC Santa Barbara hosts the conference.

"I am so excited to speak at UWM, Willamette, and UC Santa Barbara. They are very different from one another, and I look forward to sharing my views and hearing reactions from the students. I am especially honored to sit alongside such amazing women as Candida Royalle and Constance Penley whose work has been so important and influential," says Taormino.

Tristan's latest film is "Tristan Taormino's Expert Guide to the G-spot," which hit stores this month.
