Extra's: The best extra for me this time was the 25.5 minute long Behind the Scenes featurette by Victoria Woodhill. It had a lot of fun moments and nudity, something I like to see in such an extra. There were also three related and two unrelated bonus scenes from other Vivid movies (the three had Tawny in them) that were pretty good. The other extras were standardized, a short biography of Tawny Roberts, a couple of photogalleries, some trailers, a positions room, a double sided DVD cover and lots of spam (I hate having to speed through the spam at the beginning of the movie, can't you leave it on the extras page?).

Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color, as most porn made these days. The picture was another step back in terms of quality for Vivid since the lighting was weak and that accentuated the grain and video noise problems. The editing stunk too, often interrupting the sexual action for no good reason. The audio was presented in 2.0 stereo English but had some problems with the mix (the vocals too low) and the dynamic range was really limited (as was any separation between the channels).
Body of Review: Vivid is currently one of the leading companies in terms of feature porn due to its sheer size. Due to the nature of the business, that means they have a stable of directors, all of which have their own quirks, as well as strengths and weaknesses. Director David Stanley, one of their most prolific directors, is known for his levels of output (his main strength) as well as his lack of technical ability (his main weakness). His latest release for Vivid is a feature focusing on Tawny Roberts, Unlovable. She plays a porn star about to get married to a dweeby guy, played by Eric Masterson. The story was lame and the lighting poor, impacting the quality of the sex scenes but fans of Tawny should appreciate her scenes here, however limited. Here's a breakdown of the scenes by cast:
Scene One: Holly, one of the more playful gals in the jizz bizz, sporting a lean frame and lovely smile (but little else), had a scene in bed with the mighty Evan. While it was rudely interrupted by poor editing, it was still fun to watch as he went down on her, licking, fingering and howling like a madman. She then gave a hand-assisted blowjob, displaying some of the energy she has become widely known for as they did a 69 together. They screwed in a few positions (again, interrupted by poor editing) before he dropped a load onto her.
Scene Two: Tawny, the blonde hotty lead of the movie, and Randy had a scene by a fountain near a staircase. She started it off by blowing him, slowly at first and then increasing the tempo as things warmed up a bit. After leaving some streamers trailing from his dick, she rode him in a few positions (slowly) and energetically contributed to the action (i.e.: she wasn't passively taking his man-meat). It ended when he jerked off onto her toes and feet.
Scene Three: Tawny and Holly had a lesbian scene in the back of a limousine while Eric and Cher watched them. The sex was mostly licking and rubbing but some toys were employed to get the gals off. It was limited but a bit of fun to watch, the technical values weakening it too much to recommend.
Scene Four: Nicole, one of the best performers in the business at this writing, and her real life husband Voodoo, had a scene on a couch at a party. She aggressively attacked his penis, both orally and with her hand as she sucked his balls, readying him to bone her hard, which he did. They screwed in several positions vaginally until she screamed how she was going to come. She finished him off by jerking his meat and taking the pop shot to her chest.
Scene Five: Tawny, in a bridal outfit, Chris and Rich, all had a scene on the couch at the party. The sex included oral, straight and some food fetish (using wedding cake) before the guys jerked out loads to her face. It was an interesting scene although nothing nearly as warm as the previous scene was.
Summary: Unlovable is a good title for this one since the many aspect of a good movie were not present, making it unlovable on those merits alone. To me, this was an inexcusable waste of talent since the cast held such promise but with limited fuck for you buck, not to mention poor lighting, picture and sound, you really should consider this one a Skip It.
