Video/Audio: The video is presented in 1.33:1 full frame
color. The video is a mixed bag of "home cam" type of video with typical Private/Woodman
quality for the more produced scenes. The quality of both vary a great deal
depending on the age and the settings of each "scene". I wouldn't call any
of it great at all, but it's passable. The colors, particularly in the casting
parts of the film are very flat due to the lighting. Audio is also mixed with
most of the stereo soundtrack lacking decent sound.
Extras: Making of, Trailers, Girls Profiles, Production
The DVD: Private dvd's have basically been the same since
they first started producing them. Easy to navigate menus with nice designs.
The dvd contain several subtitle languages for various languages in case you're
hard of hearing or watch with the volume muted. One thing that needs to be
changed is the lack of chapter breaks within the scenes.

Review: I watched my first volume of the castings series
from Private way back when Nikki Anderson was originally on it, it was VHS.
What I saw was a bunch of women get interviewed in various languages then have
sex. Sometimes the sex
a Private movie or from one of their photo shoots. These sucked, big time.
In most cases, the movie scenes were edited down to a very choppy, short scene
while the photo shoot scenes seemed to last forever. In the photo shoots we
get to watch the performers shoot photos! These bore me to tears because it's
looking at a magazine that moves every once in a while with a lot of clicks
and direction from Pierre as the audio. The one redeeming part of the movie
was the fact it had a scene or two, one of which was Nikki's, that had Pierre
showing off his casting couch. The scenes were very, very simple one or two
angles with crappy lighting and terrible sound, but there was something about
them that I liked. I'm not sure what exactly, maybe it was the amateur feel
of it that was intriguing or just the women, but I enjoyed those more than
any of the other so-called scenes on the tape.
Fast forward several years later and they have gotten on up in the number
of volumes for this series and the DVD's mean new releases for them. Why on
earth would I want to see another movie I only enjoyed one, maybe two, scenes
from a previous episode? It could be the fact that I'm a glutton for punishment
or maybe I had hoped it had changed up the format a little and used more "casting
couch" type of scenes. Then again, it could just be because of the women or
a mixture of all three...we'll never know.
Actually breaking down these "scenes" is not going to happen because, for
the most part, they are the same. Interview (5-13 minutes), then an edited
sex scene (sometimes with live sound where the direction is audible, sometimes
music is used) or a drawn out photo shoot which is actually about the length
of one of the regular scenes, but boredom sets in early with these. In the
interview, Pierre asks the same basic questions. Does she know he does porn,
does she like sex, does she have fantasies, does she like girls, anal, more
than one boy...blah, blah, blah. Sometimes it is amusing to hear, or read,
what the women say, but most are not.
(Tease for next volume)
Overall Thoughts: Behind the scenes stuff can be fun, but
there is a reason the mainstream companies don't release the stuff separately
from the movies they were shot for...no one in there right friggin' mind would
by them. Imagine going to get Terminator 2 and getting the movie only and then
sitting right next to it was a disc of the special features. Hardcore fans
might pick it up, but Joe or Jane Average are going to pass that up. That's
what this is like. Watching a DVD full of bonus material, only it's not an
added feature to the real movie.
This is for fans of the series only. Everyone else Skip It.
