The basic plot surrounding Robby D's latest porno with a plot is as follows – Barrett Blade, an aspiring musician, discovers a huge suitcase full of money. He's not sure what to do with it – should he spend it all? Share it with his friends? Try and find its rightful owner? His friends want him to spend it all on women and partying but in his heart, he really loves his girlfriend, Avy Scott (and who can blame him? Yowzah!). He has to decide if he's going to stick with her or ditch her to party with his friends and a group of hot strippers.
Scene 1: Avy Scott gives Barrett Blade a high quality blowjob in their bedroom. She's obviously quite skilled in this department and takes her time with her work. After a good five minutes he gives her the payback she deserves, eventually mounting her on the bed and pounding away until they both finish up, happy as clams. As far as XXX films go, this scene is actually quite tender and you can be convinced that the two performers really do care about each other.
Scene 2: Barrett and Darren Blade are playing around with Stormy and Alexa Ray. At first it's blow jobs all around as the order of the day but this soon turns into mutual pussy eating as well. Once the oral favors have been exchanged, it's time to get it on and that's exactly what they do. Any love or tenderness you were supposed to feel in the first scene is intentionally thrown out the door here (as it should be in context with the story) and they go at it with nothing but coming on their minds.
Scene 3:Jay Ashley and Lezley Zen are hanging out in the basement when they decide it'd be a good idea to get it on. He eats her for a spell and then she gives him a truly inspired and very deep, sloppy blowjob. He tosses her onto the couch and pounds away at her until it's time to come and he shoots all over her face as she eats his wad.
Scene 4:Avy and Barrett kiss and make up in this scene. She's sporting a way too hot schoolgirl out fit, which he makes the most out of. He eats for a few minutes, then she gobbles his knob in return, rubbing her breasts on him as she sucks. Soon enough, he's got her on her side and he tosses it in for a shake. They hit a few different positions until he's ready to blow and he pulls it out and shoots it all over her chest.
The plot isn't much to work with but it does provide a way of segueing from scene to scene and on that level it works. The girls are all top notch, never looking anything less than gorgeous and the acting both in and out of the bedroom is better than your average adult movie. The sex scenes are well shot and passionate and Band Camp comes out as a decent adult feature that would serve well as a couples vehicle.
The widescreen picture was shot on mini 35mm but is not enhanced for anamorphic television sets. The picture quality is pretty decent though, and it's obvious that the director has put some thought into his compositions and the widescreen ratio compliments this. Colors are solid, lighting is nice and professional looking and aside from some minor edge enhancement and the odd compression artifact here and there (minor problems), this transfer looks pretty good.
The Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound mix sounds quite nice. The background music swells up from the rear channels in a few scenes, filling out the soundscape nicely. Most of the dialogue and sex noises come at you from the front and center channels, as they should, and everything comes through nice and clear without any hiss or distortion problems worth noting.
Aside from a bio for director Robby D and a photo gallery that runs about three minutes and features some hardcore shots from the film, there are trailers for a whopping twenty other Digital Playground features such as Repo Girl, Sex In The Valley, Beat The Devil and plenty more. There's also a behind the scenes featurette entitled Band Camp – Unrehearsed that splices some footage from the film in between candid segments filmed from behind the camera. A few cast members speak a little bit and there is some footage of director Robby D at work.
Band Camp only has four scenes but Robby D makes sure they count. The film is well directed with some decent acting and is conventional enough (yet still erotic at times) to work well as a couple's movie. Recommended.
