Extra's: Unlike most releases in the Sin City Ultra line, the extras here were weak. There was a pop shot compilation from the scenes, a photogallery, some trailers, and a double sided DVD cover as well as the usual spam. I was disappointed that there was no Behind the Scenes feature as advertised on the back DVD cover.

Audio/Video Quality: Illusion was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color that it was shot in by director Richard Mailer. The colors looked good and there was very little grain but the shadows showed me that the lighting was problematic and a bit more technical expertise by the crew might've elevated the look of the movie a whole lot. Most of the scenes were shot in gonzo style with little imagination or forethought so you'll have to decide for yourself if this should've made it as a Sin City Ultra release (I didn't think it was worth the title). The audio was fairly clear but the limited English language skills of the majority of the cast killed the story and the vocals weren't backed up by decent music as better features tend to be these days.
Body of Review: Sin City Ultra has spent the last couple of years trying to establish itself as a player in the feature market rather than chase the gonzo bandwagon so many other companies seem to be following these days. With a host of attractive contract gals and some decent directors, they've made great strides at combining a plot with fun sexual antics, even if they sometimes fall a bit short. The latest release by the company is Illusion, a story about two middle aged lovers (Dasha and Dillion) who are on a honeymoon in Europe when she disappears. The story aspect of the movie followed Dillion as he attempted to find his lost lover and the twisted ending will appeal to those of you who want to feel as jaded as I do on a regular day.
Okay, I'm not going to mince words here; the story elements were lame as was the acting. Dillion was okay but the others didn't know enough English to make the story work. Thankfully, the sex was about what I expected with the opening and closing scenes being the best (Dasha and Dillion have long displayed a chemistry together as well as some raw passion together). The sex scenes had a lot of the usual oral, vaginal and anal sex and the gals were all fairly attractive if you enjoy seeing the kind of gal foreign porn is known for. They weren't top of the line sweeties by any means and the way they ALL looked at the camera when performing was distracting (I'd rather they focus on pleasing their partners, thank you very much!) but they did have some mechanical energy as they did what they were "supposed" to do. I'm not in the mood to break down the action by every act since it was all so very generic (again, except in a limited way by the two leads) and researching who's whom for a weaker flick is about as much fun as plucking nose hairs. Suffice it to say, Dasha and Julie were the best looking and Dasha was the best sexually.
Summary: Illusion was not my favorite feature of the week for so many reasons but it did look okay in terms of brightly lit scenes of mechanical screwing. The scenes blended together in a generic fashion and other than the scenes with Dasha in them, it pretty much sucked (in a bad way at that). I'm going to rate this one as a Skip It unless you're a huge fan of Dasha but even then it wasn't all that (since her return to porn, she's made a lot of solid performances that have been far better than her Vivid contract days). Check it out if you must but don't expect a whole lot or you'll be pissed off.
