Audio/Video Quality: Mad At Daddy was presented in the typical 1.33:1 ratio full frame color that most porn is made in these days. It appeared to be the original aspect ratio shot by director Martin Del Toro and my overall impression of the picture was that it was okay for a low budget porno but lacking compared to many other releases by similar companies. The warm up sequence used for each scene was very over saturated and done in a slow motion that could've passed off as VCD quality. Once the real sex began, it got better but still suffered from too much handheld camera movement, inappropriate framing, and lighting issues (to name but a few problems). The stereo audio wasn't bad but it was limited and the music during parts of the movie was kind of droning; to the point I wanted to mute it in fact. The DVD master also had some issues with compression artifacts and the way each chapter of the movie was given its own title. To simplify where I'm going with this, that means you can't easily move back and forth, nor could you scan backwards if you choose to do so. This is low budget mastering that really has no place in modern porn.

Body of Review: With all the new porn companies popping up these days, it becomes difficult to keep up with all of them unless it's your full time job. Even then, there's simply no way to know everything on the market given the thousands of releases each year but I try to seek out new porn and boldly review where no one has reviewed before. The latest company on my radar screen is Vertigo (in one of the trailers, it was pronounced "ver-tee-go" rather than the more conventional pronunciation), a company formed by a couple of guys from other companies that wanted to reach out on their own. The first offering by the company that I've seen is Mad At Daddy, a set of five vignettes that all had some minor theme of a youthful gal (of legal age of course) having sex with a guy old enough to be her father (or at least much older uncle). The thematic issues aside, the sex was boilerplate standard with a few highlights worth noting and in all, it wasn't a bad start for the company. Here's a quick look at what the DVD had to offer:
Scene One: Brooke, a blonde that I've been seeing a lot more of lately, and effeminate Nick, were up first. She set the tone of the show by giving a striptease dance in slow motion while dressed in pink & orange bikini underwear. I've found a lot to like with this gal but she looked somewhat harsher than usual here. Her oral skills were as solid as ever and he gave a bit in return before they boned but the energy levels were lower than I'd hoped for and the chemistry was lacking most of the time. Admittedly, I still liked the scene due to my past experiences with her work but it wasn't really worth more than a glance to me. I'm sure she could've at least pretended to enjoy working with him better than she did so consider this your warning.
Scene Two: Sophia, the cutie on the front DVD cover, was up next as she masturbated in the bath tub for the camera. Her skin tone contrasted nicely with the white tub but it wasn't until she was playing tonsil hockey with Sascha's penis that the action heated up in any major way. The little titty fuck she gave him showed she was seriously in the mood to play and his oral on her went well too (fingering both holes to get them ready as well as some taste testing). I also enjoyed her throaty little moans as he plugged away at her tight pussy although her sweet ass looked great in the doggy position. They did a lot of anal sex too but she appeared to be barely holding on for most of it (it got better as the scene went on though). In all, it was a well done scene that gave me hope for Vertigo's success.
Scene Three: Gia, the cutie known as much for her exploits at this year's AEE show than anything else, began the scene with some tease in a hot tub while dressed in a pink & black bikini. She's really getting better with age and I could see why the scene with her, Ava, and John, had such potential. The initial pacing was different this time but the trio seemed to enjoy several permutations of action as they went at one another with a lot of abandon. Fans of Gia's sweet ass will want to see her get the anal (if only Ava had complied with her request to spank her harder), including the ATM that followed. The scene belonged to Gia though and Ava barely rated more than a willing participant most of the time so keep that in mind (Gia was great though).
Scene Four: Vanilla, a cute brown haired gal with a fair amount of her baby fat on her curvy frame, had the next scenario which began with her being caught drinking by Rick. He sold his silence for some nooky and gave as well as he got orally. I've never found the kitchen table to be the best place to have sex and her sexual skills weren't particularly interesting but she still had a spark of potential that I'll be looking for in the future (either at Vertigo or elsewhere). There was some taste testing (PTM) after the oral and vaginal sex and she took the facial fairly well but it was definitely a filler scene for me.
Scene Five: Nikki, the sweetheart cutie with flowing black hair and a face that reminded me of mainstream actress Jennifer Connelly, broke the tease formula by eating rather than teasing before Jerry came over and forced her to work out. Fans of curvier gals will appreciate that she had some extra weight here (and the pounds looked very fetching on her; more so than they would on most porn performers) and the couple did hit it off nicely in the living room with her smoking his pole like a true champion. She was beaming the entire time and the combination of energy and chemistry was very hot to watch.
Summary: Overall, Mad At Daddy wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. It was a decent first attempt and worth a rating of Rent It unless you're a huge fan of some of the cast due to some technical issues (the mastering issues can be solved easily; the production issues might take a bit more time & resources), a lack of decent extras, and the limited heat between some of the cast. I've seen far worse from some of the more established companies' of late so check it out if you're so inclined but a moderate overhaul of the basics established with this one might yield significant results in terms of fuck for the buck value.
