Cast: Malezia, Rick Patrick, Rhiannon Bray, Monique Alexander, TJ Hart, Melissa Lauren, Manuel Ferrara
Non-sex role by: Sharon Kane, Eric Masterson and Chi Chi LaRue (the last two in the BTS feature alone)
Length: 118.5 minutes
Date of Production: 12/1/2004
Extra's: The best extra for me was the 21.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Hot Rod Hank that included sex footage, some bloopers, and some interviews with the cast and crew. Fans of any of them will enjoy watching it and Hank did a good job with the material here. There were also five bonus scenes from older movies, three of them included Malezia in action and the other two were tack-ons. There was also a couple of photogalleries, a positions room, a very short biography for Malezia, a double sided DVD cover, some trailers, and about 5.5 minutes of forced spam at the beginning of the movie.

Audio/Video Quality: The 6th Trick was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Chi Chi LaRue for Vivid Entertainment. The fleshtones were accurate, the levels of grain and video noise tolerable (though not optimal), and the lighting about average for a Vivid movie made last year. The composition of the camera shots wasn't always favorable to the gals but it wasn't bad enough to breakdown in a virtual screenplay of weaknesses. There were no compression artifacts and the picture was usually okay. The audio was presented in the usual stereo English with the music getting a boost at the expense of the vocals. In all, the audio was okay but not my favorite aspect of the movie.
Body of Review: Vivid is currently one of the largest producers of porn in the world and as such, their movies run the range from good to crap, much like the releases of other companies that try to do a lot with limited amount of time. Their latest release on the low budget scale is Chi Chi LaRue's The 6th Trick, a story about cheating spouses tied together in vignette form. With little real dialogue and an emphasis on sexual encounters in a voyeuristic theme, the movie is billed as starring Malezia but the true star was Rick Patrick as a guy with an insatiable appetite for sex. It wasn't the best release of the week but fans of the cast will enjoy it a fair amount so here's a breakdown of the scenes if you're still interested:
Scene One: I Want To Watch: Malezia, the featured contract performer from the front DVD cover, and Rick Patrick, were up first in a scene on a bed. He spent a fair amount of time licking and spitting on her crack and she seemed to enjoy it just fine. She then rolled into a 69 position so the two could chew at the same time, all as Manuel Ferrara watched them from behind the door. The vaginal screwing was pretty heated and her all natural body looked good coated in sweat but the music was too loud compared to the vocals and the amount of chemistry fluctuated a lot here, even if the energy didn't. The anal sex was less interesting to me although I liked her calls for him inside her ass, since it was so slow and forced. It ended when he jerked off onto her ass cheeks for those who care.
Scene Two: Looking For A Date: Rhiannon Bray, playing a brunette street walker, had the next scene with Rick Patrick after he picked her up as a trick and brought her to a warehouse up the street. The two played with one another a bit longer than usual, a good thing to instill heat in my opinion, before she began working on slobbing his knob. She was vocal about the way he reciprocated the oral loving since he seemed to do a good job and the two were boning with a condom in no time. I liked that she aggressively pushed back as he rode her and the energy was pretty solid most of the time here with some nice chemistry. The pop shot ended the scene as she took a facial and I thought it was a good scene for the most part.
Scene Three: You'll Get What You Paid For: Monique Alexander, Vivid's newest contract gal, was up next in a lesbian scene with Malezia on a small bed. Monique went down on her partner first and Rick seemed to enjoy the show from the nearby chair nearly as much as Malezia did. They used a clear plastic dildo to work on each other but I didn't get the sense that Monique had as much fun, reducing the heat for me.
Scene Four: A Private Dining Room: TJ Hart, a blonde that has long been able to prove that experience trumps youth in the sexual arena, had the next scene with lucky Rick Patrick in a restaurant. The two began by sensually playing with each other, sucking fingers, rubbing each other, and all the usual tricks employed to ready a partner for sex in semi-private place. I liked her black lingerie as it looked good on her and the way she rode in his lap during foreplay was pretty cool too. The sex was oral and vaginal with a pop shot to the chest; generally fun to watch if not the best scene of the movie due to limited chemistry between the two.
Scene Five: Proof & Payment: Melissa Lauren, the actual lead of the movie rather than the contract cutie discussed earlier, took on both Manuel Ferrara and Rick Patrick on a couch after the cheating Rick was made to see the error of his ways. The sex included a DP (double penetration) and Melissa is well established as a solid performer in porn so I knew the scene would be decent. The energy levels here were good although the chemistry varied more than it should have with the technical matters kind of weak this time.
Summary: The 6th Trick was only worth a rating of Rent It for me but it came close to a higher rating. I'm not Malezia's biggest fan and I wish TJ had more to do here but the overall quality of the DVD wasn't bad for a vivid release. If you've never watched a DVD by Chi Chi, you'll probably want to watch the Behind the Scenes feature by Hot Rod Hank as I think he captured the spirit of a Chi Chi shoot as well as anyone else I've seen in the past. The technical matters were as varied as the heat and energy this time so your mileage will vary as to what it's worth to you though I'd be lying if I said I wasn't going to watch it one more time.
