Audio/Video Quality: Best Butts in the Biz was a series of uncredited scenes directed by various, often uncredited, directors for Jill Kelly Productions over the years and the visual aspects of the scenes varied a lot more than most people, especially me, would really care for. There was grain, lighting issues, video noise, poor lighting (in some scenes), inaccurate colors, and a host of other visual flaws that detracted from the heat of the scenes far too often. I saw some compression artifacts (this was really sad since the short length of the movie meant it didn't have to be compressed so much) too and while almost half the scenes looked okay by today's standards, the others looked really weak. The stereo audio often overlooked vocals in favor of cheesy music and the separation between the channels was as limited as the dynamic range.

Body of Review: Now that Jill Kelly Productions is falling apart at the seams (both principles have fled the scene), the company seems intent on fulfilling whatever obligations they have with a variety of compilations. Like all such moves, the compilations greatly vary in terms of quality and fuck for the buck value. One of the weaker ones I've seen of late is Best Butts in the Biz, a set of uncredited scenes from previous Jill Kelly Production movies that supposedly focused on some fine looking ass. Well aside from the fact that the title makes you think you're going to see a lot of anal action (you're not), the asses here ranged from average to hot; hardly the best in the business. The best in the business could be argued by fans but many would consider Katja Kassin, Lauren Phoenix, Ariana Jollee, and a couple of others to be prerequisites to such a title and like other false premises, this one wasn't up to snuff for discerning fans. Here's a breakdown of the scenes as best I could identify them but feel free to lend a guy a hand if you can confirm or deny which movies they came from:
Scene One: Club Kink: 2001: Sunrise Adams, Faith Adams, Dayton Raines, and Sunrise Adams, all appeared together on a bed with Colt Steel giving them orders as to what they should do. The sex included a lot of oral and kissing but it was limited in many ways with the gals looking like they weren't into it more often than not.
Scene Two: Friends & Lovers: 10/2002: Tyler Faith and Shyla Stylez, took on studly Randy Spears on a flowery couch with him seeming uncertain of what was happening (but offering little resistance of course). The gals did a surprisingly solid job licking him (and each other) with some straight sex tossed in for good measure. The gals looked very good here and I can see why they became so popular with fans but this older scene would probably have been better if it had been more complex in action too.
Scene Three: When The Boyz Are Away 11, Jane Millionaire, or Unbelievable Sex (no way to know for sure): 2003: Monique Alexander, Jenna Haze, and Britney Foster, all had a scene on a blanket outdoors by a wooden bench in the mid day sun. Jenna sported a large purplish vibrator and went down on Britney while Monique sucked Britney's breasts. The action soon became more convoluted as the gals used tongues and toys to get off but the action was very mechanical.
Scene Four: Just Sex: 12/2002: Aurora Snow, Layla Rivera, and Randy Spears, had a scene from a movie I reviewed long ago. Here's what I said back then: "Aurora and Layla joined forces to make Randy happy in a living room/observatory. The sex looked good but without vocals it's tough to say if the performers really enjoyed themselves. It lost heat once more but enjoyable somewhat. The sex was oral and vaginal only but it had some merit on a replay.
Scene Five: Perfect Pink 8: 2001: Belladonna, back when she was just becoming a force to be reckoned with in porn, Tabitha Stevens, long after she had succumbed to the multitude of face and body altering plastic surgeries, and the massive Lee Stone, all got busy on a bed together. The sex was playful and seductive, even if the lousy music track interfered with the heat for me. It was interesting to watch as it was so slow in starting out but gained some measure of heat pretty quickly for me. Belladonna gave the best performance of the two gals with Tabitha relegating herself to the background more than once but I still liked the scene.
Scene Six: ???: Cherokee, the hotty MILF with a great ass that looked great when I was up close and personal to it last year, Soma, an interesting little brunette, and Rocco Siffredi look-alike Mario Rossi, were up in the last scene that at least gave some plausibility with regard to the title of the show, by a fireplace. The gals started off on their own before he joined them and it wasn't a bad scene, just limited by what the gals would and wouldn't do as much as the technical values. I haven't seen much of the lovely Cherokee of late so it was good to see her in action but as much as I liked some parts of the action, the totality of the scene wasn't all that great.
Summary: Best Butts in the Biz simply lacked the kind of energy and excitement the title would lead you to believe was included in the show. The asses weren't bad but few would argue that most of them are even in the top twenty five in modern porn and the lack of a decent running time (under 90 minutes is lame for a compilation these days folks) and extras made this rate a Skip It from me unless you find it on the bargain bin shelves some time in the future. Price always has a factor in value so as much as JKP tried to snowball you into thinking this had lots of anal and using contract performers long since gone from making movies for JKP made it kind of a gyp in my book (although if the compilation were more appropriately titles and had a better price, I'd probably have suggested it as a rental. Check it out if you like but JKP has made a lot better shows than this one and I hope still has some life left in it.
