Cast: Nina Hartley, Melissa Lauren, Nicole Sheridan, Voodoo; Tory Lane and Trent Solari in the bonus scene
Non sex role: Carmen Luvana

Extra's: For most people, the best extra will be the bonus scene between Tory Lane and Trent Solari from the movie University of Austyn (review forthcoming). He was a geek and she was great so your mileage may vary but Tory was incredibly active throughout the scene and took anal very well this time. I actually liked the 28.5 minute long Behind the Scenes feature more since it was made for the DVD but I can say that since I'm getting the movie the bonus scene is from. I liked how the cast gave lengthy interviews and provided some solid anecdotes more than the scenes in the movie in fact. It was interesting to hear Carmen Luvana point out how Adam & Eve has opened up sexually of late too-this being the type of comment typically edited out as sounding negative about the releasing company. Sadly, I eventually caught on that this BTS feature was for another Nina educational flick (one of her bondage movies) and that made me wonder how frequently it would be used in the future too. The best truly unique extra was the 13 minute long interview with Nina Hartley that had her discussing the topic at hand, the G Spot, and some background for her educational series. There was also a photogallery and some trailers for those who care.

Audio/Video Quality: Nina Hartley's Guide To G-Spot Sex was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as originally directed by Ernest Greene; Nina Hartley's significant other. The lighting was slightly too low, likely to provide an almost airbrushed effect on Nina and the cast as the over saturated fleshtones seemed to glow. There was some grain and some minor video noise but neither were all that problematic as the cast went through the educational process. There weren't any compression artifacts that I noticed but I'll admit to having my eyes glued on Carmen when she was around and the others when they filled the screen. The audio was provided in a very basic 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo. The vocals picked up all the usual discussion, even Nina's lisp, but it also sounded slightly hollow at times.
Body of Review: Nina Hartley has long been known as one of the leading authorities in porn on medical matters due to the fact that she has her nursing degree and has been one of the most outspoken advocates for the industry and sex workers in general. While I'll be the first to admit that I've been a fan since the early 1980's, I've never agreed with her opinion on female ejaculation (especially since the sheer volume of material coming out of some performers is certainly urine) since it is not backed by any substantial medical literature. Thankfully, she doesn't go too deeply into the subject in her latest educational video, Nina Hartley's Guide To G-Spot Sex, describing it as a look at "an area of heightened sensitivity on the front wall of the pussy". Co-hosted by the lovely contract starlet Carmen Luvana; Nina talks about the mechanics of the G Spot before providing two scenes exploring it with various performers. Here's a brief look at the two scenes:
Scene One: Nina Hartley, dressed up in a latex stripper nurse outfit, prepared French redhead Melissa Lauren in a large leather chair for some exploration by using her tongue. Melissa was dressed in a light blue latex outfit and it really accentuated her figure in such a way that she looked ready for anything that came her way. Nina then engaged in various forms of sex with her partner, including using toys, fingers, and her tongue to coax a few orgasms in the G Spot fashion. Even if the scene was faked in terms of the material at hand, I thought both ladies did a solid job portraying their respective roles and the educational aspects of the scene were above average.
Scene Two: Nicole Sheridan, dressed up in a black and red latex outfit that looked incredibly hot, was up next with her husband Voodoo in a scene on a couch. This one was played as a scenario more than a standardized educational bit like the more clinical last scene and I have to admit that she was looking very appealing to me. Sexually, the two did oral and vaginal only but they were allowed to take their time and explore one another far more completely than they typically get to in a scene due to the nature of the show. I thought they were held back by the need to focus on the material at hand but they have chemistry in all their scenes so even the limitations of the scene couldn't completely detract me from liking the scene a few times. It did lack in replay value though because the two were holding back but her looks alone carried it for me.
Summary: Nina Hartley's Guide To G-Spot Sex was enhanced by having the lovely Carmen Luvana in it but even though she looked sweet in her fetish outfit, the lack of anything but some limited visual tease of her disappointed me more than a little bit. She's the hottest thing at Adam & Eve and has been for some time so not getting to see her as one of the demonstrators kind of sucked (in a bad way at that). Still, the point of Nina's educational series is not about specific performers so much as helping fans learn to more fully enjoy their own bodies in something a bit more involved than jerking off (as is standard in most porn). Had the extras been dedicated to this DVD alone (i.e.: made for this one and not generic offerings) and perhaps Carmen been in a third scene with Nina (or me for example), I would've rated it higher but it had some importance as a DVD that will help people learn to more fully appreciate their bodies so I still rated it as a Rent It.
