Extra's: Clearly the best extra was the inclusion of a full copy of the original Car Wash Angels by director Jim Holliday. This continues the tradition from Eye Candy: Camp Fuck A Lot, a title that also included a classic Jim Holliday flick as part of the package. I really think that as far as extras go, these additional, related, movies add great value to the package and I included a brief look at the movie below for those who care. Otherwise, the 14 minute long Behind the Scenes feature was interesting in that it showed some extra hardcore footage, interview material, and a lot of how the movie was made. I also liked the 30 minutes worth of interviews, including the ladies on themselves and William Margold on Jim Holliday. I hope to see more of Bill on the upcoming tribute remakes of Holliday's flicks since he really is one of the few people that knew the guy through thick and thin (and in depth). There was also a slide show, three trailers, and some spam along with a helpful Star Index that helped more readily identify the ladies from the movie in their scenes.
Audio/Video Quality: Car Wash Angels: Wet-N-Wild was presented in 1.85:1 ratio anamorphic widescreen color as originally shot by director Jane Waters for VCA Pictures as part of the newly commissioned tribute to Jim Holliday series they have instituted. The lighting was decent, limiting the grain and video noise with little to complain about in this sense. The composition of the shots tended to flatter the ladies more than a little bit, using tricks that Jane has picked up over his lengthy career as a cameraman, director of photography, and director (among other related jobs he's worked at). If it were a true tribute to Jim, it might have used more of the "fluff bunny, rainbow marshmallow" footage like at the beginning during the water fight or natural sunlight during the scenes as Holliday tried to provide but there is a difference between a tribute and a mere copy of a style so I can't fuss too loudly. The audio was presented in the usual 2.0 Dolby Digital stereo English with little separation or dynamic range to speak off but a music track that at least seemed passingly like those that Jim used during in his movies (airy, surfer styled music).

Body of Review: VCA Pictures has been a player in porn for what seems like generations, in large part due to the vision that former owner Russ Hampshire had in regards to the kind of porn he wanted his directors to make. One of his quirkiest yet most reliable directors back during his reign was Jim Holliday, a man with a vision of what he wanted to shoot that would not be denied. If you've ever seen a few of his movies, you'll know that while he has oft been imitated, those trying typically fail to achieve the kind of magic Jim had, perhaps due to the strange mannerisms that Jim added or maybe just because they understood him even less than the critics appeared to do. VCA's first tribute to the master was Eye Candy: Camp Fuck A Lot, a well received fuck flick that managed to provide some fun in the Holliday spirit but added in a lot more of the Jordan way of doing things so I was hopeful that round two in this tribute, a movie called Car Wash Angels: Wet-N-Wild, by director Jane Waters (a man that worked with Jim many times in the past), would come closer to the mark. Here's a quick look at the scenes noting that no condoms were used in this admittedly light piece of fluff:
Scene One: Isabel Ice, the cutie located on the middle of the front DVD cover over the words "Route 69", was up first as she walked over to muscular Jay Harrington for instructions inside the mechanics shop. He enjoyed smacking her fleshy ass and the light music continued to play as he took off her outfit to have better access to warm her up orally (and with his fingers). She returned the favor by blowing him very heatedly; using her hand to gland combat style, mouth, and eye contact to her best advantage. He then started nailing her hard in several positions as she screamed out in pleasure, moderately active in returning his thrusts and letting loose the contents of her bladder in the process. If you've ever worked in or hung out around a mechanic's repair shop, the fantasy of boning a hotty will surely have popped into your head and while this one had some rough edges, it was pretty well done nonetheless.
Scene Two: Kacey Villainess and Laeh Lexington, the two gals on the lower left hand side of the front DVD cover, were up next inside the shop after they got turned on by watching the action from the last scene up close and personal. I'll admit that they weren't exactly on par with the ladies Holliday used to hire for his flicks but their immediate lack of the "angel" persona aside; they did appear to have some fun in their lesbian romp together. With some dark make up or a thump heavy soundtrack designed to scare away humans, they'd have been easily able to provide the kind of scene that is labeled as alt porn by the marketing geniuses in Chatsworth. They did use toys but it was mostly tongues and hands to get off with, providing some diversity to the show.
Scene Three: Gabriella Banks, the redhead featured on the right hand side of the front DVD cover, was up next as she polished the chrome on a motorcycle; showing off her ample ass thanks to her very short skirt and ass riding thong. Her partner for the scene was the late Jon Dough and much of the scene was shot in POV or near POV, as she earned the cover thanks to her wonderful oral skills in action. This led to him pounding her pussy on the motorcycle, showing a sense of balance that I'd never imagine being able to have, with her becoming more of an active ride when he laid down on the floor. That was when she impaled herself on his cock, bouncing on the rod as though she were lost in the moment. The sweat glistened on her body as she continued to ride him, encouraging him vocally until he popped all over the place.
Scene Four: Samatha Roxx, the attractive brunette on the middle of the front DVD cover (beneath the car sudsing picture and beside Gabriella) who looked like she could be the long lost sister of Selena Silver, came to the car wash looking for work; finding she needed to prove herself to the owner by getting Van Damage off. Her oral was slow and seductive, leading to a relatively passive vaginal romp in several positions. She did pick up the pace a bit when she went into the reverse cowgirl position and I'd be misleading you to say that she wasn't having fun but her vocals consisted largely of "uh uh, oh yes, oh yes" and I found it annoying. The facial was decent but she has shown more potential previously.
Scene Five: Kelly Broox, a very cute gal with light hair and an all natural body, was busy washing a car when Nick Manning whined at the job she was doing. Given her skimpy top and blue jean cut offs, I doubt most men would have cared if she was polishing the car with shards of broken glass but those who know Nick, know that he tends to come across as abrasive (it's part of his porn persona). He went down on her after getting rough and then she gave him a great little hummer before he started nailing her with her active participation. Watching her sweet ass cheeks ripple as the two collided was hot and if she didn't get off, she should win an award for looking like she was, ending as expected with the facial all over her head and chest. Yum!
Summary: Car Wash Angels: Wet-N-Wild showed that Jane Waters did indeed have a better understanding of the Holliday way of doing things even if he did not have the budget or cast to successfully pull off a truly "Jim Holliday" movie. I'm willing to bet that if some strings were pulled, some favors called in, and the budget enhanced just a little bit, such a goal could be achieved but as Jim used to say; the money should be used strictly for the women as all else is window dressing (listen to his audio commentaries if you don't believe me). It was interesting to see William Margold participate in the movie too since his bond to Jim was long and strong, now all VCA needs is to hook up with Jill Kelly to truly take the reigns. That said, Car Wash Angels: Wet-N-Wild was well worth a rating of Recommended to me for the bonus disc movie as much as all the fun the feature itself provided. There are still some rough edges to hone but I'm willing to bet that VCA can find the right formula to capture some of the Holliday spirit if they try harder.
Mini-Review of Car Wash Angels: The original Car Wash Angels was shot by Jim Holliday on 10/1995 (released around the time of his passing on DVD if I recall correctly). The movie was shot in full frame 1.33:1 ratio color, had lots of silly trivia that Jim was known for, and at least a baker's dozen of scenes that included a lot of lesbian trysts to balance out the male on female material. The music was provided by a precursor to Reno & the Rumrunners but you'd never notice the difference if you listened to the music from his later flicks. The movie lasted an astounding 139 minutes, had the slimmest of plots centering on the car wash, and scores of attractive performers & actors like Bionca, Careena Collins, Caressa Savage, Emily Hill, Jill Kelly, Jordan Lee, Juli Ashton, Kylie Ireland, Crystal Breeze, Mickey Lynn, Missy, Paisley Hunter, Shayla LaVeaux, Sindee Cox, Shelby Stevens, Sydney St. James, Tammi Ann, Sid Deuce, Peter North, TT Boy, Tom Byron, Bobby Vitale, Clay Hyde, Jake Steed, Joey Silvera, Edward Electric, Buck Staley, Michael Maxx, Miles Long, Mike Albo, David "Pussyman" Christopher, Veronica Hart, Simon Delo, and even a cameo by Jim Holliday himself. The story of the Burton Allen Institute was barely touched on in any meaningful way in order to let the sex be the focal point of the flick (a wise idea). The extras were left intact with the three bonus scenes, the audio "Jim Holliday Legacy" tribute (though it bugged me how it kept looping the same information), a few photogalleries, star biographies, trailers, and spam presented in a wholly interesting manner. The use of the actual car wash in some portions of the movie was inspired but again, just a nice touch to the fun had by the performers in most of the scenes. What an excellent extra, yes?
