Audio/Video Quality: Nightshift Nurses 2 was presented in the originally filmed 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Jim Holliday for VCA Pictures back in 1996. The picture was never blurry, but still relied on a sense of raw energy rather than technical expertise, and had a wonderfully diverse cast as seen on the DVD cover. The fleshtones were accurate and never out of focus but fans of classic porn understand the limitations of the genre at least as well as I do so take the rating with a grain or two of salt. The audio was presented in the usual Dolby Digital stereo English but the vocals appeared to be looped in a few cases, the dialogue slightly out of synch at times, and it sounded hollow more often than not. The music was trademark Jim Holliday style as provided by Dino Ninn, Earl Ninn, and Scott Reno & the Vancouvers, an early iteration of Reno & the Rum Runners, with intermittent music punctuating the scenes from time to time.

Body of Review: Cheerleader Nurses and Return of the Cheerleader Nurses were two of the early titles director Jim Holliday that showed he, like a great many other men, appreciated the medical ladies that wipe up, treat us, and otherwise care for us when we're sick. About ten years ago, he made a movie he long claimed "almost killed him" called Nightshift Nurses 2: The New Decade where he picked up the franchise from director John Leslie with the help of a guy named Justin Sterling (you might have heard of his wife) that showed the sexual misconduct taking place at a wacky hospital that I'd like to sign in for some day. The box cover said it like this: "Jim Holliday, that auteur of the erotic and the obscure, has finally got around to creating a sequel to one of his most popular hits, Nightshift Nurses... And fortunately it's been worth the wait, packed with an all-star cast. This offbeat comedy centers around a hospital with such a reputation for caring that perfectly healthy people will fake illness just to get some of that special treatment for which it is famous. And once you get a glimpse of how the nurses attend to their patients' needs, you'll want to check in, too. Utilizing a radical new therapy called repeated libido deployment. The staff is pushing the barriers of the sexual frontier to heretofore unprecedented heights – and creating yet another classic adult feature in the grand tradition of Jim Holliday. Best of all you don't need insurance or Medicare to check in. And once you do, you may never check out." Here's a look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used back then:
Scene One: Shayla LaVeaux, looking even better than I remember her in her prime, and Anthony, playing a doctor, were up first as he took her temperature and checked her symptoms the old fashioned way; feeling her up and having sex with her. He rimmed her and she tossed his salad far longer (spanking him and rubbing his asshole as if his name were Kurt) before he fingered her ass and followed through with his cock. In mere moments, he planted his seed in her gape and on her back; starting off the movie with the proverbial bang.
Scene Two: Sindee Coxx, Kim Kitaine, and Nick East, were up next as the ladies fussed at him for being ill. They discussed philosophy and he told them he was a philosopher "if it turns you on" (my kingdom for a pragmatic philosopher like this). They wasted no time with the oral and vaginal sex taking place without any tease, followed by some anal and a facial.
Scene Three: Caressa Savage, Brittany O'Connell, Sindee Coxx, and TT Boy, were up next in bed as they greeted the perpetual patient before doing the horizontal mambo. Two of the ladies paired off for some lesbian fun but that soon went to the wayside as they rejoined for a messy little mini-orgy that included a technical DP. This was TT at his prime and he took full advantage of the situation as he did his best to get all of them as completely as possible. The gals rode actively and the ending facial was not shared, sadly enough.
Scene Four: Misty Rain, a very tall and leggy gal with a hot body, was up next in a solo scene in front of the secondary male players as she diddled herself on a coffee table and used lots of toys. Sean Rider and one of the others jerked out a load as they watched her use her toy collection
Scene Five: Kylie Ireland, playing a rich hypochondriac named Muffy, was up next wearing green, form-enhancing lingerie in the bedroom with crazy Mark Davis. Their dialogue was kind of strange but she sucked him until he was erect and he snacked on her much longer as a result. They screwed in a few positions, with doggy being my favorite, as the fleshy female presented herself to him vaginally. She always (and still) looked good to me, and while the scene was short, I sensed she was having fun by her physiological responses to his boning style. It ended with the facial as expected, her playing with his semen as a result.
Scene Six: Felecia, Juli Ashton, Sindee Coxx, Kim Kitaine, Caressa Savage, and Misty Rain, were up next in a fun lesbian orgy scene after the rest of them confronted Juli. The scene took place in the hallway but moved to a waiting room as they licked, rubbed, used toys (that came out of nowhere), and tongues to get off with. Jim excelled at providing lesbian orgies and this was one his fans would discuss for years (occasionally bringing it up from time to time recently too). Yum!
Scene Seven: Kylie Ireland, still playing the spoiled rich gal in her classy gown, was up next with "doctor" TT Boy as he gave her a physical that got, well, physical. He went down on the lovely lass and then took her temperature with his cock, her throwing him down and actively riding him when she took over the scene. It was clear that this was what she needed in the first place, a good session of boning in her wet pussy. Gals in the business right now could learn a few things watching her aggressively take on his cock vaginally, with the inevitable facial hitting her all over (including her ample sample of a chest).
Scene Eight: Juli Ashton, looking good and wanting to cure delusional Sean Rider, took care of his needs in a bed next up. They stripped; she blew him with a measure of enthusiasm, and they screwed vaginally until her pussy got all red as a result. This led to them doing the anal she was so popular for doing back then, showing she enjoyed it more than just took it from him. It then ended when she rubbed out his load on her face.
Scene Nine: Jill Kelly and Shayla LaVeaux, long time friends and sex partners, were up next as they did each other in the break room. It was a slower lesbian scene with no rushing to get in the way of the fun, with rimming, fingering, foot fetish, and no toys to speak of as they got off at least once apiece.
Scene Ten: Jill Kelly, Juli Ashton, and Joey Silvera, were up last as the trio had some fun on the couch. The ladies were giving him a "poor baby" sympathy fuck that showed they cared about him with a blowjob. This didn't mean that they neglected one another; there was plenty of lesbian action too, but the emphasis was on a short oral scene for all of them to enjoy.
Summary: Nightshift Nurses 2 was better than the John Leslie original by far from what I remember of the flick but you have to remember that Jim Holliday had a certain style that typically either appealed to your sense of the absurd or it didn't with little middle ground to speak of. If you like retro-porn that was considered the "Alt-Porn" of its day, Nightshift Nurses 2 will have the requisite fuck for the buck, replay and stroke value, and wonderful cast like we rarely see put in a single title these days due to budget concerns. While his later movies were longer and more jam packed with extras, this one was definitely worth a rating of Recommended for all it had to offer fans.
