Extra's: The best extra was easily the 31 minute long Behind the Scenes feature that showed some of the cast having extra fun before, during, and after their scenes (Jules' BTS footage is always heavy on additional sex though so don't expect a lot of watching the ladies put on make up and stuff). Fans will enjoy seeing the ladies when they weren't acting so much (they were more natural when they felt the main feature wasn't shooting) and some of Jules' instructions to them explained some of the limitations of the action but it was also fun to watch as a fan myself. The cool thing about it was how the aspect ratio was matched to the movie (it was clear that the first disc's scenes were shot in widescreen with the BTS showing those scenes caught as such, with the second disc's full frame nature shown too-it wasn't a mastering problem). For fans of the ladies (Gina and the Lane's in particular), the additional footage was not only hot (Gina) but also hilarious (the Lane's). For the record, I doubt the truck driver saw the gals playing in the SUV since they always seem to stick around and/or honk their horn when they see that (don't ask). The extra footage was almost completely limited to the scenes from the first disc though, a shame considering the ladies on the second set of scenes, but understandable. Audio/Video Quality: Flesh Hunter 9: Special Edition was presented in 1.85:1 letterboxed widescreen (blah!) AND 1.33:1 ratio full frame as originally shot by director Jules Jordan for distribution by his own company, Jules Jordan Video. The lighting was presented in a very pleasing manner that lit up the action in the scenes very well, limiting the grain and video noise a lot, though I wish anamorphic processing had been employed on the widescreen scenes for those of us in the growing legion of HD and widescreen TV's to appreciate. There were a few scenes where things weren't quite as good but that was almost certainly due to Jules providing a more realistic setting for thematic results. So, in the scenes where the lighting was flat and stronger; the picture was as good as anything from Jules that I've watched to date. The scenes where the lighting couldn't be provided that way were still well lit for the circumstances but admittedly not optimal for seeing the action as clearly as some fans, myself included, would like. The grain and video noise were both better than usual, marking another positive visual improvement by Jules that was complimented by the compositional work Jules offered up that repeatedly enhanced the look of the cast. There were no noticed compression artifacts and while the picture wasn't the best gonzo I've seen; it was somewhat better than I expected. I again wonder what future releases using one of the true high definition formats (Blu-Ray or HD-DVD) will do for the quality of the picture given his recent improvements over past works. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English offering that really didn't use any separation in terms of the vocals (there was some potential to do so here too). The dynamic range was also kind of generic, an area that seemed slightly better than previous efforts and an area that Jules could easily improve to make best use of the great many home theatres in the hands of porn fans everywhere.
Body of Review: Jules Jordan having fought for freedom from "The Empire" to form his own successful distribution company with Jules Jordan Video, has been rapidly expanding this year as an heir apparent to the gonzo throne (especially as several of the major companies have either collapsed, lost their best talent, or otherwise jumped the shark). As a fixture on the gonzo scene for a long time now, he is notable for offering more footage then almost anyone else, more kink than anyone but the fetish companies (they only offer their fetish with nothing else for the most part), and more of the hottest women in porn offering up more tricks than they do elsewhere. To sum up the whole concept of Jules Jordan in one word would be: MORE. His latest release is Flesh Hunter 9: Special Edition, a title that follows the Jordan formula of more with a double disc special edition. If you like Jules or hardcore porn in general, you're going to appreciate this one a whole lot. If you're still interested, here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used:
Scene One: Tory Lane and Vanessa Lane, playing "hot fucking beach chicks" in the same outfits they wore on the middle of the left hand side of the front cover, as Jules stalked them from his car along the beach. They were rollerblading and having a fun time in the sun as he provided a running commentary on their antics. They dismissed him as a pervert and left, with Vanessa showing more contempt for him then Tory who said little. The gals (who aren't sisters by the way) went into his SUV anyway and he bribed them with slushies and money to flash him; leading to the gals kissing and otherwise teasing him. They then picked up a broken down Mr. Pete, taking turns blowing him in the parking lot, coaxing each other further as the scene progressed. The vaginal cock riding of the ladies as the SUV drove along the roadway reminded me of some of the Shane's World titles on the market but it got better when they went to Jules' place for more extreme action. There was more tease, more making out, and ended up on the stairs where various permutations of sexual depravity, including some major anal on Vanessa (with oral clean up by Tory doing ATOGM). They kept mixing it up in the house with more screwing around and lots of oral, moving to the couch for better leverage; each gal showing a different style before Tory took the mouth pop and cumswapped it with Vanessa. I like the two ladies and thought they showed a lot of chemistry, energy, and passion with a humorous close for Pete making it a fine opener for the movie.
Scene Two: Gina Lynn, the hotty featured on the bottom of the cover, was a special surprise for the movie now that she sticks to her own label most of the time. The scene was probably done to celebrate the occasion of her label moving to Jules' for distribution but whatever the reasoning, her fine ass and curvy body looked good in her heated lingerie as shown on the cover. The previous scene lasted about an hour so I had my hopes that the tease this time would last as long as that one showed, sadly not being the case as the doorbell rang far too early for me (mixing up dynamic a bit to prevent the cookie cutter formula in a sense) with birthday boy Jean Val Jean the lucky guy of the day. He savored the moment as she smothered his face with her breasts, doing the same with her fleshy ass before giving him a great lap dance. This led to a blowjob enhanced with hand action and some tittyfucking as the guy barely kept his breath, her doing the infamous titty squeeze to increase the friction. He then took her in a standing doggy before her paced (and most active) cowgirl that looked especially fine. The tease became harder as they went inside with some of the usual (and fetching) up skirt footage as she climbed the outside stairs. Inside was Steve Holmes waiting for her with his newly lightened hair as he romantically appreciated her ample breasts with her appreciating his ample cock in return. She played with herself as he thrust his cock deep inside her mouth but she also showed an active oral style that would cause most men to lose it right out of their pants. The ladies liked that (a lot!) and the framing of the camera work seemed to work better when he handed off the camera. The gals double teamed him orally, slowly at first but soon picking up the pace as though consciously aware of the effect it had on Jules (and the audience). The gals were active cock riders during the vaginal romps and each seemed to have their own style about pumping and grinding. There was less variety in what actually took place then some of the other scenes but if you enjoy "meat and potato" sex scenes, this one was a fine example, lasting a bit over 33 minutes before the huge facial pop shot. Scene Six: Tiffani Digivanni, the busty bleach blonde on the upper right hand corner of the front cover with the black web outfit on, was up next as she teased to some generic music while on the bed. The camera work was a bit mixed in terms of quality but she reminded me a lot of Ashton Moore so her fans might want to check this scene out if you were otherwise not inclined to do so. She did a short masturbation scene with a clear dildo that I liked (wished it was longer in fact) when Jules Jordan joined her. She started talking dirty as he felt her up and she showed that her oral skills were minimal before he oiled up her breasts for a titty fuck. Summary: Flesh Hunter 9: Special Edition by director Jules Jordan had some highs (Gina Lynn, Tory Lane, Vanessa Lane) and lows (Julea London) but still had the kind of strokability, replay value, technical expertise, and quantity of fuck for the buck that warranted a rating of Highly Recommended for gonzo fans everywhere. Despite some minor issues mentioned above, there was little doubt that Flesh Hunter 9: Special Edition continued in the long history by Jules of offering up more to fans and even the extras were pretty solid. I wished there really was "4 hours and 30 minutes" of movie as advertised but considering what most companies offer these days, it was still a solid value that will have you stroking for a long, hard, time.
