Audio/Video Quality: Chatte Magnifique was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as shot by director Bill Fisher for Club Jenna. This was reportedly his first movie for the company, other titles shot by the man under a different name, so he let loose with all the effects and artistic expression he had bottled up inside him from all his other works to date. Each of the five scenes took on a life of it's own with the stylish manner in which they were shot; sometimes substantial portions of grain added in to give a weathered look and other times in the kind of slow motion many fans scream angrily about but the one thing I saw about all of the different styles was how the editing and camera work seemed to be deliberately done a certain way and offering up a mix of textures instead of the generic gonzo flat lighting so many people seem to prefer. To me, a little bit of style goes a very long way but I'm not going to suggest that I would want to see a lot of titles shot this way, even if they were designed as such. In general, there was no way to give an overview of the scenes thanks to the multitude of ways the scenes were shot so I'll add in some commentary on points that stuck out at me below in the individual descriptions. The audio was presented in a standard 2.0 Dolby Digital English, most of the vocals excised out in order to cater to the music (something I hate in artistic porn). Some of the music was creative while other pieces gave me a headache so your mileage will vary here too, the bitrate being 192Kbps for those keeping track.
Body of Review: Bill Fisher has worked in porn under a variety of names in the past but now that he's a director for Club Jenna, I suspect he'll become better known no matter what he calls himself. I happened to review his second title, Brea's Prowl, recently and wanted to see his roots as an artistic style director so I went and got a copy of his first, Chatte Magnifique. The movie was a showcase for contract gas and other lovelies working for the company, all shot in as stylish a manner as Bill could muster. The back cover said it like this: "When you combine beauty, sex and imagination, they create "Chatte Magnifique." From critically acclaimed director Bill Fisher comes his first adult feature film. You will be ravished from the opening frame to the last exploding cum shot. The brilliance of elaborately lavish wardrobe and amazing hardcore penetration make this one of the most creative movies in recent years. If you remember the feeling you had the first time you ever saw porn, you will once again be reunited with that same sense of splendor. Be prepared to enter the world of two of Club Jenna's hottest contract stars, Jesse Capelli and Chanel St. James as they perform in some of the most exotic scenes of their careers. For the very first time, watch the creative and imaginative genius of Bill Fisher as he works with Club Jenna to present Chatte Magnifique." In all then, it sounded pretty good to me, even knowing his affinity for the special effects and artistic style that usually bugs me. Here's a quick look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used:
Scene One: Tiffany Taylor, the incredibly hot brunette seen on the middle of the far left hand side of the cover wearing lengthy gloves, Nadia, her cute buddy in the cage, and a moderately studly guy named Nicholas Taylor were up first in the first stylish offering of the movie. The editing and special visual effects were heavily played here and in my book, neither of the gals needed that kind of sleight of hand though it did help make the bondage-lite aspects more interesting. I wouldn't want a steady diet of such scenes but given the physical beauty of the two lead females in the scene, I didn't mind it as much. There was a fair amount of oral as well with Tiffany sitting on Nicholas' face and the ladies showing a distinctive talent for doing each other and sucking cock. Tiffany was the more active cock rider of the two as well, impaling herself soundly on his rod, the threesome all showing some chemistry and energy that the slow motion and effects could not kill (though I really, really missed the vocals). It ended with Nadia taking the facial and was a solid scene but for minor issues mentioned.
Scene Two: Chanel St. James, dressed in some funky bondage gear, was up next as seen on the upper right hand corner of the front cover. I haven't seen all that much of her and given her mystique, I wish that would change but only with a straightforward type of scene if possible. The tease here was a wacky blend of effects and over the top lighting, showing enough of her that I'd rub one out if she asked, though I wanted to see her in a less stylish offering. She did manage to suck start muscular Reno, showing some experience with a cock in her mouth as she worked him to the bone. She's not my favorite contract gal by a long shot but given her sultry appeal, I could see where many could learn to like her as much as ass munching Reno seemed to as he snacked on her crack. He banged her fairly hard as well but she was passive at first, letting him do all the work. Once she got on top of him, she impaled herself nicely though, keeping the heat levels up more than a little in the process. The vaginal sex was finished with him jerking out a round of population pudding to her chest, the gal rubbing it in like lotion to the fade.
Scene Three: Jesse Capelli, the extremely cute gal featured on the lower right hand corner of the front cover, was up next as she had a lesbian scene with a blindfolded and gagged Tracy Lynn. The solo action, toy use, and various effects were much more integrated this time and one look at her eyes was enough for me to get a chubby, even if the music video wind machines and slow motion weakened the action more than I believe Bill thought it would. The role playing was done without the aid of vocals and this was otherwise one of the best looking scenes of the bunch as the two played and ate together. They enjoyed some PTM and PTOGM as well before it ended, the gals looking fantastic at all times.
Scene Four: Puma Swede, the blonde MILF seen on the lower left hand corner of the front cover, was up next in another scene that played less heavily with the effects, assisting in making it a strokable piece of work. She's certainly not my favorite gal of the movie for looks but her passionate masturbation and active riding style with mope-ish Jordan Ashley proved to enhance her appeal to me overall; making me consider looking up some of her previous works for comparison purposes. It was a messy blowjob and nasty attitude that carried the day this time, Puma needing only a bit of work to really make it a sweet scene (unless the effects could be turned down a few notches). He cut loose on her fighter pilot goggles and mask to close it out, a weird but fitting way to finish up this time.
Scene Five: Brooke Banner, a seriously attractive beauty that I've appreciated many times in the past without her last name, was up next as she followed the stylish pattern of the series of giving some interesting tease footage during the opening montage. If her face has ever looked this good in the past, I can't recall it and her body gave me the shivers of desire, even before metrosexual Tony Desergio joined her in the living room. Sexually speaking, her act was pretty solid too with the emphasis on oral and vaginal action. He did most of the work in some of the positions so it wasn't her best work but I enjoyed it enough as a closing scene that even the modest pop shot to her breasts wasn't a problem for me.
Summary: Chatte Magnifique by director Bill Fisher for Club Jenna had the benefit of some of the most beautiful ladies in porn being dressed up and allowed to extensively tease the camera. This offset the weaknesses discussed above and resulted in a rating of Recommended form me as there was some reasonable stroke value to be had here. Granted, your mileage may vary in that sense but Chatte Magnifique, like Brea's Prowl cater to a specific audience of couples that should enjoy them both a lot more than perverts like me so check it out and see what I mean.
