Tristan Taormino is at it again and this time it's the Expert Guide to Positions. I've fancied a lot of educational DVD's lately on the subject of sex, mainly because it's such a fascinating topic, and I think if there's one person to learn from, it's Tristan. For fourty eight minutes, Tristan and co. goes on with the same beats from her prior educational DVD's discussing the different sexual positions, the impact they can have on a woman's G-Spot, and how the positions can be beneficial for both men and women.
With sexual positions you have to consider both parties. Don't be a position Nazi. Taormino not only lists some interesting positions (all of which I've heard of, not that I'm bragging), but also sheds some interesting insight in to what baggage comes with position. Taormino also makes a great point about the men that some of us just can't face. Some positions are meant for mean with large cocks, so don't delude yourself, fellas. Admit, and commit.

For someone mainly geared toward women, Taormino definitely considers the male's point of view by asking them to be realistic and also consider the woman's comfort, while also letting them decide which is best for them. Men with bad knees may not always be able to try some of the more strenuous positions listed here, but she also examines positions that can be comfortable for the men while serving much use to the woman as well. A lot of the demonstrations are great and Taormino's instructions are easy to follow and quite fascinating.
Every single position on this DVD serves two or three purposes and she takes what's normally considered a position exclusively enjoyed by one partner and influences the audience to experiment to where it's incredible and absolutely satisfying for both parties. The performers really invite us to become aroused while also serving as props for Taormino's lessons showing us that both partners can have a blast with descriptions that some folks may furrow a brow at sooner or later. If that's not good enough, there are also pop up facts and side notes that also serve a great purpose.
Though it may be Vivid Entertainment, Tristan never deviates turning this in to an all out porn. The demonstrations, while hot, also have a point to them and the performers commit to the parts displaying the deep sense of intimacy many positions can induce with married couples and long time partners in mind here. "The Expert Guide to Positions" doesn't particularly sport diagrams and a group of couples like prior guides, Taormino simply goes through all of the available positions and describes their purposes beat by beat, and that makes for a fascinating educational DVD for mostly any couple.
Audio/Visuals: As with all the other Vivid Sex Ed DVD's, sound and picture are very important for the audience to take something away from Taormino's lessons. The DVD varies from wide screen to full screen when it applies to the position, and the visual quality is often clear and sharp. The audio is quite good with Taormino's words coming in loud and clear, as well as the bodily motions. It's a typical great production from Vivid.
Goodies: Among the goodies is a bonus scene sans the instruction and sidenotes with the Chair position, and with Oral Sex. Beyond those there are trailers, URL ads, et al. Not much to go on here.
After Thought: Tristan Taormino is sexy, intelligent, and successfully creates an atmosphere of comfort, and pure professionalism without resorting to Vulva hand puppets once. "The Expert Guide to Positions" is useful, and if you're looking for a DVD that will teach you and your mate about various positions to heighten your sex life, then this is the one to get. I hope we never get the Expert Guide to Scat. Here's a fun game: I've performed all but three positions. Can you guess which ones?
