Extras: The best related extra included on the first disc of the two DVD set was a 57:58 minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Justin Syder. It had a combination of interviews, extra sex footage, material about the ladies getting ready and some cast material, making it a pretty solid little effort as far as I was concerned. There were also some minimal text biographies, some trailers, spam, and website banners, the box itself a fold out model with some nice pictures of the ladies. The second disc provided something unrelated to the movie in the form of eight older scenes of award winning or nominated by AVN pieces of work, some a lot better than others as far as I was concerned. The bonus scenes were Things Change 3 with Misty Rain and Mark Davis, Babes Illustrated 15 with Audrey Hollander, Melissa Lauren, and Venus, Taboo 21 with Brianna Banks, Lola, Aurora Snow, and Joey Ray, Les Vampyres with Ava "Jewel Valmont" Vincent and Syren, Justine with Tianna (while Mike Horner watched), Justine with Roxanne Blaze and Mike Horner, Carnal Instincts with Flower, Nikki Tyler, and Charlie, and Nothing To Hide 3&4 with Wendi Knight, Brandon Iron, Pat Myne, and Michael J. Cox. These bonus scenes were in full frame color lasting 94:38 minutes total, with varying degrees of age showing on the admittedly rough looking scenes (at least at times).

Audio/Video Quality: Runaway Love was presented in anamorphic widescreen with an aspect ratio of about 1.78:1 as shot by director DCypher for Metro using the MPEG-2 codec for the standard definition release. The colors looked very accurate, the lighting was a mixture of various techniques that sometimes worked better than others, the level of grain typically minimal (nonexistent), and the composition of the shots about the same as his better works having in terms of making the performers look better than usual much of the time. David Lord served as the director of photography and Barrett Blade clocked in as assistant director too, so there was little doubt in my mind that the adage about too many cooks spoiling the broth coming into play here. There were no compression artifacts (the bitrate was modest this time, often in the 4.2 Mbps range), no video noise, and while I liked the more straightforward approach to the scenes, the movie seemed truncated to me as though stopped in mid production and made on the cheap. The only choice for audio was the basic 2.0 Dolby Digital English audio track (in 192 Kbps with a sampling rate of 48 kHz), this time using vocals mixed without the loud music to enhance the heat and energy for me. In terms of the vocals, there wasn't a lot of separation between the channels and the dynamic range lacked a bit but I didn't get the sense that the audio was blown off here at all, helping to elevate the quality of the production a bit; the minimal music handled well enough too.
Body of Review: DCypher has long been known as a porn screenwriter and production assistant but his work as a director for companies such as Metro has also been established via awards won, acclaim given, and enough quality titles under his belt that I look forward to seeing what he'll come up with wherever he plies his trade. Last week, I was sent a copy of his latest release from the company in the form of Runaway Love, a series of five vignettes dealing with youthful ladies that run away and end up selling their services to whomever can pay. The topic hits a little close to home for me considering so many runaways end up in these situations but the quality of the cast is such that I couldn't help but be willing to overlook the theme in favor of what I expected to be wonderfully heated pairings, albeit with some male talent not generally known for being top tier talent in some cases. Here's a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:
Scene One: Lexi Belle, the cute gal seen on the far right hand side of the cover, was up first as she hitchhiked down the public street, pondering her lot in life as a runaway. She ended up on a cheap motel room bed with Ben English to break this train of thought, the lack of tease much like the presumed life of a runaway turned to prostitution where you get in, finish the guy off, and then move on to the next guy after collecting your money. Lexi was a decent enough cocksucker, concentrating on the head as her hand held the shaft so tight, Ben moaning in pleasure at her handiwork while lying completely still. He even went down on her before the couple plowed pussy, Lexi actively pumping his rod as she gave him his money's worth. It wasn't a bad little bonefest to appreciate but it was kind of generic too, resulting in his wad of genetic juice rubbed out on her perky little face as she looked up to him from her knees (closing her eyes to avoid getting pink eye...or was that "semen eye"?).
Scene Two: Alexis Love, the skinny Latina seen in the center of the upper front cover, was up next as she described her father's descent into religious madness (she died by a drunk driver and he climbed into a bottle). The next thing you know, she was on the bed with Justice Young as she took off her shirt, skirt, and bra to give him greater access to her goodies, saving the cookie for last as she moistened her up with his hand. Her blowjob was far less enthusiastic than Lexi and she concentrated on an even smaller portion of the head before he reciprocated. This led to him banging her passive body, Alexis making faces as though he was tearing her up inside. Her old man fussed at her to get a job so she took off to meet Talon, trading her only skills as a means to insure his offer of a room to stay in. While she was more energetic regarding giving him head than the last gal, his creepy looks and her lack of rhythm weakened the scene for me. I'm not saying any of you should turn down an offer if she wants to blow you but it was a mediocre hummer at best. He reciprocated a bit and then she bounced on his cock in numerous positions, the lack of personal chemistry offset a little by her revitalized vaginal riding style. Sadly, Kissy seemed to equate being loud with showing she was into sex, providing a largely unconvincing attempt in the process, ending with Talon jerking out a small bit of population pudding to her kisser.
Scene Four: Veronique Vega, the skinny but attractive gal seen on the upper middle of the cover (second from the left), was then up as she picked up hitchhiking Alexis before ending up with aging lothario Justin Syder. She was into art and her sob story was how her father died, mom became a recluse, and she turned to hooking to make a living and follow her dreams to see more museums. Justin was a security guard and her attempt to fool him was pretty lame, resulting in the two working out a deal where the expansive red couch in the office was their love nest for a short while, Veronique blowing him like crazy with a sense of passion most of her peers lacked. He kicked back to enjoy the ride and makes a weak attempt to reciprocate, the active vaginal rider showing the others how to make it happen. His cock was short but thick and that seemed to work for her, the throat fucking not as playful as her pumping hips impaling herself on the dick. He had some issues keeping hard too but those were resolved thanks to her tight pussy and hard work. She did some taste testing and most of her penetrative action was warm, the scene following the formula to close up with a nut busted on her face before it abruptly stopped.
Scene Five: Lindsey Meadows, the gal on the far left hand corner of the cover, was up last as a trailer trash modern version of Bonnie & Clyde with Barrett Blade as her bank robbing buddy. They went on a robbery spree and she played up the twang in her accent, ending up on the lame in a makeshift barn where he serviced her orally before she showed she remembered something about giving head herself. His small cock was easy to handle for her so they moved into a standing doggy where he wouldn't feel so inadequate, Lindsey's moans of joy also exaggerated as they bumped uglies. This showed her to be the most passive of the bunch and it ended quickly, Barrett unable to hold his seed for a longer bout of boning. The facial was small too but it was part of the formula so the movie ended with a fizzle.
Summary: Runaway Love by director DCypher for Metro lacked the staying power of his better efforts and the youth oriented scenarios followed such a tightly scripted list of sex acts that none of the ladies could live up to their potential. If you like young ladies such as the listed cast and can appreciate the bonus disc full of surprisingly decent scenes, you should consider this a Rent It but there were numerous issues holding it down from what I could see. In short, Runaway Love was not the runaway success it could have been with a bigger budget and better planning but there was some stroke value in a few scenes so give it a look.
