After hearing all the gripes about Fun Factory's old battery compartment- I had to find out for myself. And my personal conclusion- they weren't kidding. The Gallant vibrator I received has the old style battery compartment. it works by squeezing the sides, and then pulling off the cap. I couldn't get it. My boyfriend nearly ripped the vibrator in half before realizing where exactly it was supposed to separate. After much dismay, we got the two AA batteries in the Gallant, in the right position.

It came packaged in the traditional pale yellow & red Fun Factory packaging. And after the nearly destroying the toy figuring out the battery compartment, I got the Gallant to vibrate. I recently tried the Boss for XCritic as well, and I have to say I'm much more impressed with the Gallant. This is the way a vibrator is supposed to vibrate. There is a dial on the base of the toy, it spins easily adjusting from a low to a stronger moderate vibration strength. There is a subtle groove in the dial that you can feel it settle into when you reach the highest setting, and then again when you spin the dial to off.

The Gallant, like all Fun Factory toys, is made of Silicone. To completely sanitize it, I recommend wiping it down with a 10% bleach solution, being sure to rinse after. Only water based lubricants should be used and Fun Factory is generous enough to send a sample of theirs with every toy.

I was excited to try my Gallant, elated at the fact it seemed like it was going to do a better job than the Boss. I grabbed my favorite water based lubricant, placed a little on the top of the toy, and slowly inserted this vibrator. It's 6"insertable and close to 5" in circumference at it's widest point. The silicone has a definite pattern to it and this created additional friction meaning I needed more lubricant. After I had the Gallant close to where my g-spot is, I turned the dial to high and enjoyed the vibrations. The vibrator is positioned closely to the tip of this toy meaning they stimulate the g-spot well. I wish the head of this toy were just a little firmer, as when I thrusted and tried to massage my g-spot, it seemed a bit flexible to do a great job. I did enjoy this vibrator though.

Made of a good material, with strong vibrations and a good quality construction, those that can get around the pain in the ass battery compartment will enjoy the Gallant. I'm saying Highly Recommended.
