Audio/Video Quality: Masturbation Nation 4 was presented in a 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen color offering as shot by director Tom Byron for Tom Byron Pictures in the MPEG-2 codec (like most standard definition titles are, using a 480i resolution). The camera work appeared to have been done concurrently with the scenes the ladies shot for other productions by Tom of late, some of the tease footage clearly coming from those sessions rather than newly shot. The video maintained a solid bitrate of 6.1 Mbps most of the time, reducing the obvious compression artifacts to none and each scene provided solid fleshtones that appeared to be accurate as Craig Daze worked the cameras. The composition of the scenes was consistent too with the picture not always optimal (looking better this time though) but as far as Tom's work is concerned, it was shot with the ladies in mind; making the gals look their best for the most part or at least as much as the point of view style he employed could make them. The editing by Tom was generally decent, showing the same level of skill as the last time I checked out one of his movies for review, albeit I wished some additional tease footage was left in the scenes or provided in the extras section of the DVD. The audio was presented in a 2.0 Dolby Digital English offering at 192 Kbps with a 48 kHz sampling rate. There was no noticeable separation between the tracks and the dynamic range was limited but I could hear the ladies and the music was not a factor.
Body of Review: Tom Byron and his company, Tom Byron Pictures, have long been catering to niche markets in porn, following the trends to stay afloat in this turbulent economy. As such, Tom offers up a variety of series that I have found to my liking, the latest of which is Masturbation Nation 4: The MILF Edition. Having seen a number of Tom's latest movies, it struck me that these solo scenes were shot at the same time as the full scenes used in other productions by the director, at least the clothing changed to show the footage was unique to this masturbation movie. As expected, neither Tom, nor any other males participates in the action here, the 20 ladies (Julia Ann, Brittany O'Connell, Stephanie Swift, Rachel Love, Shayla LaVeaux, Davia Ardell, Kayla Synz, Raquel Devine, Teri Weigel, Melissa Monet, Devon Lee, Janet Mason, Kelly Nichols, Lola Martin, Vannah Sterling, Sheila Marie, Brandi Love, Mika Tan, Monique Fuentes, and Chloe) all masturbating with their fingers or toys in a semi-believable manner. Rather than give you a repetitive breakdown of the scenes (they were all on the bed or couch, minimal toy usage, and few true happy endings), I figured it would make more sense to provide a cast list in order and pictures of each lady, noting that no population pudding or genetic juice was observed.

Summary: Masturbation Nation 4 by director Tom Byron for Tom Byron Pictures had a nicely selected cast of cuties with solid production values and most of what it advertised so I rated it as Recommended. I know many fans prefer seeing the ladies working with mopes, stunt cocks, and the usual pack of male talent so willing to provide their genetic juice plastered all over the faces of the women but movies like this are a treat in terms of letting the women have some fun without interruption. This time, Mika Tan, Julia Ann, and a couple of others stood out as being the best of the bunch, so see how you favorites did when you check it out. In short, Masturbation Nation 4 was nothing far off the heavily beaten track but it did provide some appealing solo fuck for the buck, strokability, and replay value to merit a decent rating, so fans of the older and curvier ladies engaging in solo work might want to pick up a copy since many of them show how experience trumps youth more often than not.
