New Sensations jumps on the porno parody bandwagon and turns it up a notch with this release, Octopussy, a XXX James Bond homage shot and presented on DVD in 3-D. Sounds like a winner, right? It is, in a way, with Danny Mountain well cast in the lead role of one James Bone, a secret agent with a gun of his own tucked neatly in his pants. He goes up against the titular Octopussy, played by Audrey Bitoni, who makes for a fun femme fatale and a decent foil for Danny's not quite so noble superspy.
The film begins when a friend of James' is found dead. He of course sets out to investigate, which is how he stumbles upon this strange case and winds up capturing the attention of Octopussy. She in turn stages an elaborate set up to snare him. It's not the most amazing plot ever written but it strings together four (yep, only four) well shot and steamy sex scenes, each of which takes advantage of the 3-D photography used for the production.
Scene 1 - Priya Rai And Danny Mountain: This scene starts off nicely as Priya gets into the bathtub, lathers herself up with some bubble bath, and gives James a very nice, slow, sexy tease. She encourages him to stroke himself and he obliges and then she gets out of the tub and into the bed to give him some head. She goes down like a champ, really taking him in without any fear or hesitation whatsoever, before getting down to proper fucking. They hit the usual angles - missionary, doggy, cowgirl and reverse, and he pulls out and blows his load over her face ending a strong and genuinely hot opening scene.
Scene 2 - Aletta Ocean And Danny Mountain: James, on the way to Octopussy's card tournament, decides to stop off and get fitted for a new suit. Well luckily for him, the tailor is a stone cold fox in the form of Aletta Ocean, who is more than happy to take in his pants for him. She takes them down and gives him head, and after some cock gobbling, we cut to the couch where she's spread and getting fucked. He hits her up missionary style before the duo goes at it cowgirl style before some anal spoon fucking finishes things up. He pulls out and blows his load on her face ending a strong, but way too short, steamy scene.
Scene 3 - Phoenix Marie And Danny Mountain: After James does well at the tournament, he finds that he's won Phoenix as part of his loot. He is only too happy to take advantage of his winnings when she takes his prick out and gives him head like she's starving for it. She gets really into it, working the camera like she means it, and from there they get down as she rides him reverse cowgirl style, being so kind as to finger her own backdoor for the camera a little bit as she bops up and down on Mr. Mountain's manly member. Danny goes in for some anal pummeling here and there and before you know it, pulls out and blows his load onto her face. Like the scene before it, this was a good one, but again, too short.
Scene 4 - Audrey Bitoni, Dylan Reilly And Danny Mountain: Are we at the last scene already? Octopussy wants James for herself and is not above making out with her hot blonde assistant, Dylan, to get his attention. Wouldn't you know it, that works like a charm! After they make out they drop to their knees for some double duty blowjob action that Danny seems quite enamored with - and rightfully so. From there the girls go back and forth, riding his prick and his face and switching spots here and there to spice things up a bit. He takes each girl doggy style a few time as well, finishing the scene and the movie by pulling out and shooting a load across both of their faces.
All in all, this is a pretty satisfying movie but when it's over you'll probably find that it's a bit on the shot side. Given how long most modern porno movies are, it's surprising to see this one come in under the mark in the department, but at least we're given some decent quality over quantity.
This shot on digital video production looks pretty clean presented here in a reasonably stable anamorphic 1.78.1 widescreen transfer. There is some mild edge enhancement in a couple of spots and a noticeable bit of mpeg compression evident throughout in the darker scenes. Skin tones look nice and natural, the compositions are dead on (though some of the camera work in a couple of spots is quite shaky), and aside from the fact that this digital video production looks like a digital video production and as such suffers from the minor defects usually associated with the format, everything looks as good as you'd realistically expect it to. But how does the 3-D work? Fairly well. The set includes both 3-D and 2-D versions and obviously there's more detail evident in the 2-D version but the 3-D option does offer some nice depth of field action and it's a fun novelty if nothing else and as you watch the film you'll realize that the camera angles were carefully chosen to maximize the 3-D aspect of it - and on the flip side, if you watch the 2-D version, you may find yourself wondering why the camera goes where it does. For the most part though it works quite well.
The Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround track is quite sufficient. The dialogue comes through cleanly and clearly as do all of the moans and groans. There is no background music used anywhere during the feature aside from the opening credits and the levels do tend to fluctuate quite a bit from scene to shining scene but aside from that there isn't much to whine about here. The audio is fine.
Well, aside from the two versions of the film, there's not much else here except for a photo gallery, some menus and scene selection. This is one of those cases where a behind the scenes featurette could have been really interesting, but New Sensations didn't go that route unfortunately.
Octopussy is entertaining enough and pretty hot too but it's also a little on the short side. The 3-D novelty of it works well - better than you might expect it to - and the presentation is nice, but it's also surprisingly short on extras. This is one worth seeing and probably more than once if you're a fan of any of the performers, so it's recommended for that reason but do keep in mind the length and the barebones nature of the release if you decide to put money down on it.
