Extras: The separate extras included a cast list, a company promotional trailer, some websites, and three trailers. Unlike most companies, Aiden adds the behind the scenes footage into the movie itself (which greatly boosts running time though it means repeated viewings tend to force one to skip that material). For the most part, the BTS showed the chemistry of the cast as they chatted, enjoyed each other’s presence, and showed a ton of nudity but it added to the value of the show for me regardless of the placement. A friend of mine previously suggested clocking the footage and subtracting it from the total running time but suffice it to say, I chose not to proceed this way, still having mixed feelings about the approach. For the record, more than half the running time appeared to be BTS material.
Audio/Video Quality: Belladonna’s Dark Meat 5 was presented in the usual 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen color as shot by director Aiden Riley for Evil Angel. The camera work seemed to rely on a single camera shooting the trysts in basic settings, but he did well capturing the raw essence of the heat between the players, something many of his peers can’t do even when using a multitude of cameras. The lighting was not bad as a result but the resolution of the camera was well below what I am used to elsewhere, the raw energy captured well enough either way. Interracial porn is often difficult to properly light so while this was not the best I have seen in recent months, it was not bad in most situations. The camera angles were a mixed batch and the relative lack of editing an interesting approach. In any case, the audio was presented in a similar fashion with a 2.0 Dolby Digital English offering that sounded hollow with no separation between the channels and no music to bore you with. Still, it was similar to most gonzo titles out at this time, the sonic portion less important to most fans than the visuals.
