Cast: Siri, Ritchie Calhoun, Callie Calypso, Xander Corvus, Cherie Deville, Ryan McLane, August Ames, Danny Mountain
Length: 115:40 minutes
Date of Production: 2014
Extras: The extras included a 15:06 minute long Behind the Scenes feature, a “pick your pleasure” menu, a photogallery, trailers, spam, and some company information. The lengthy BTS by Jacky herself was comprised solely of four cast interviews (not just the women either), some bantering between the director and cast making it stand out.
Audio/Video Quality: Rekindling The Flame was presented in a crisp, anamorphic widescreen as shot by director Jacky St. James for New Sensations. Using the talents of director of photography Eddie Powell (Paul Woodcrest assisting on camera operating too), editor Gabrielle Anex, and the usual crew responsible for the company’s best efforts, Jacky applied the technical team much like she does on her other works to get things looking and sounding great. The flesh tones were accurate and the composition of most camera angles looked good, the editing as smooth as ever to draw attention away from the technical side so viewers can just enjoy the resulting four vignettes. There was a company watermark on the lower right hand corner of the screen for those who care. The aural components were satisfying too, the music, vocals, and ambient sounds all blended in for a welcome upgrade from the plethora of generic sounding releases I put up with on a weekly basis. As with the visual aspects of the movie, the audio portion was handled nicely, perhaps other companies will start paying more attention too.
Body of Review: Jacky St. James is one of the best known women directors these days, her work at New Sensations with Eddie Powell sparking something of a renaissance in the family drama genre of late. Her latest release is called Rekindling The Flame, a set of four vignettes showing a romantic angle rather than the edgier relationship dramas of hers I appreciate, the chemistry resulting from proper casting certainly making a difference in the quality of the scenes. The back cover said this about the feature: “Cherie and Ryan, whose careers cause them to spend less time together than apart, seek exciting ways to keep their sexual attraction hot between visits. In appreciation for her husband's thoughtful, romantic gestures, Callie decides to explore some more taboo adventures in the bedroom. Roleplaying becomes the perfect recipe for seduction after Siri and Richie meet up at a bar for a pretend, 'first time encounter.' August, a seemingly sweet and innocent young bride, surprises her husband, Danny with a steamy afternoon filled with handcuffs, blindfolds, and a leather whip.”
The company press release described the movie like this: “New Sensations announces the release of "Rekindling the Flame," the third installment in its new and critically acclaimed romantic vignette series, "Tales from the Heart." Written and directed by award-winner Jacky St. James, and featuring cinematography by award-winning director Eddie Powell, "Rekindling the Flame" presents an exciting and intimate view of renewed romance among long-time lovers. "Most romantic stories end just as a couple gets together. 'Rekindling the Flame' explores what happens afterwards," Jacky St. James said. "During the honeymoon stage, everything is heightened, but the intimacy and trust couples experience during a long-term, committed relationship can be just as sexy. 'Rekindling the Flame' is about finding creative ways to keep that connection alive with that person who's in it for the long haul with you." "Rekindling the Flame" follows four separate couples as they explore fun and kinky ways to revitalize their sexual appetites for each other, while losing their own inhibitions. For some, that means trying new forms of erotic play in the bedroom; for others, it's role playing as strangers. There are no rules for these couples, just opportunities to grow closer together. "Sex with somebody you've been with for a longer period of time opens the doors to creativity and excitement in the bedroom," St. James continued. "You aren't just relying on passion anymore — you're using your imagination to keep things fresh. Even when couples reach that seemingly inevitable plateau in their sex lives – there is so much more room for sexual growth if they just keep exploring. This is what 'Rekindling the Flame' is all about." "Rekindling the Flame's" couples are played by Siri and Richie Calhoun, Cherie DeVille and Ryan Mclane, Callie Calypso and Xander Corvus, and cover girl August Ames and Danny Mountain. "Rekindling the Flame" has a runtime of 116 minutes, and includes an exclusive photo gallery and candid Behind-the-Scenes featurette.” Here’s a brief look at the scenes by cast and action, noting that no condoms were used for those still interested:
Scene One: Siri, a thick redhead with a juicy ass, was up first trying on a variety of outfits for her role playing date night with Ritchie Calhoun, the gal going all out to look sexy in her black studded dress. While a threesome with the cutie bartender would have been even better (guess who she was), the two played out their roles with a degree of sarcasm and witty repartee, his hands working her big boobs as they kissed upon entry to the home. She reached out to paw his pecker too, the turgid member responding well to his groping of her tits and panty covered crotch, Siri applying some hand to gland friction before an aggressive blowjob. The knob slobbing fun led to him briefly gobbling her gash her superior eye contact adding to reasons I liked the scene. He seemed a little laid back for her but kept up well enough, various positions of vaginal sex and a titty fuck draining his dragon of semen though the couple continued to kiss as he ignored her glazed chest.
Scene Two: Callie Calypso, a very sexy young lady, and scruffy looking Xander Corvus, were up next as a couple that had markedly different approaches to keeping their six year relationship alive; her with an intellectual approach and him with a lot of little touches before she agreed to having anal sex with him. Callie rationalized away her fears of the pain and nasty side of opening her back door, climbing into his lap to explore the idea with him before some kissing led them to slowly stripping and getting her excited enough to go through with the idea. He chowed down on her bald beaver before Callie slobbed his knob using hands, eyes, and mouth in unison which led to some soothing toy use for the anal to start. He went slow at first and started pounding increasingly faster, Callie’s respiration rate increasing as she got into the act, the gal impaling herself on his modest member in her ass. She did some taste testing and gave the appearance of having at least one orgasm, rubbing out another as he tore into her ass until pulling out to dosue her stomach with his sperm.
Scene Three: Cherie Deville, a blond bombshell with pretty eyes and a great smile, was up next with Ryan McLane, his work schedule forcing him to travel so much they had to make a conscious effort to more fully appreciate what time they had together. The hotty blond would send him naked pictures via her cell phone and engage in phone sex, the marvels of modern miracles assisting in making their world closer regardless of physical distance. He came home dressed like he worked as a hit man for the mob to find her in sexy red lingerie, the guy on a layover before heading to Houston so he joined her in bed. Her heart shaped ass looked especially grand in the outfit and he went down on her at length while she caressed his hair, her shaven snatch tasting fine given the look on his face. She then reciprocated with a saliva soaked hummer, Cherie mounting him to actively ride in a multitude of vaginal positions until he couldn’t hold off any more and tossed off his seed onto her crotch and lower torso, both giving small kisses to the other.
Scene Four: August Ames, the fetching young lass featured on the front cover, was up last with cover male Danny Mountain next, her wondrous ass and beautiful face making her desire to be tied up and ravished easy. The scene showed clips of the couple going at it in different clothing to light music, serving as smaller examples of their playful sexual encounters that kept their love life alive via experimentation. The fuller encounter displayed at length had her corset and other garb removed before he flogged her ass crack with her wearing a blindfold, her nipple erections and glistening skin looking awesome in her black silk stockings and g-string, Danny securing her arms and legs by restraints already laid out before hand. There was oral and vaginal sex, some modest toy use (like the candle wax in the opening montage) but her bald pussy looked amazing and her enthusiasm, the blindfold enhancing her other senses before what looked like a fake pop shot landed on her entire torso (the camera did not show his cock launching and the consistency of the fluid looked more like cheap lotion than semen) but again, she looked good.
Summary: Rekindling The Flame by director Jacky St. James for New Sensations was a strong volume of the series, the chemistry between the performers solid enough, the replay value enhanced, and the strokability on par with anything in the related “Tabu Tales” series to merit a rating of Highly Recommended for a general audience. I know some prefer the edgier nature of the other series, I myself have most of the time, yet even the theme here of regaining the spark most physical relationships start with is one we can all identify with, having ladies like August Ames, Cherie DeVille, Siri, and Callie Calypso paired up with suitable males they wanted to work with helping make these scenes work. In short, Rekindling The Flame was the latest in the “Tales From The Heart” line that is designed for couples and those who are romantic at heart, the lack of darker themes not necessarily making it weaker but definitely directed at a different audience than myself, a jaded old porn hound, so give it a look and let me know what you think.
