New Machine Genre: Pro-Am Director: Ed Powers Cast: Carmen Luvana, Ed Powers, Fujiko Kano, Kimmy Kann, Leanna Length: 143 minutes Date of Production: 1/4/02 Extra's: photogallery, interview with Ed Audio/Video Quality: The picture had a soft focus and a yellowish tint to it. The audio was a bit too low but otherwise okay. I just wish someone at New Machine would tell their dvd mastering company to turn down the volume of their logo splash screen at the beginning-it's way too loud compared to the feature. Body of Review: Almost everybody knows Ed Powers by now. He has been making his home movies with aspiring new porn performers for over a decade and sometimes finds one who doesn't look like a deer caught in the headlights. Ed himself is a chubby old white guy of about 54 years with a receding hairline, a pony tail, and a goatee. I suppose the best way to describe his is that he looks like those old guys who go to the porn store on a Saturday night instead of getting a woman. Usually, he'll chat with the performer who is on his bed and get a little taste in before allowing her to tease, masturbate, and then engage in mechanical sex with him. That said, a lot of older, white, balding guys seem to identify with his movies. After all, why would they want to be reminded that they don't look like Dale DaBone, can't perform like Mark Davis, and haven't got the moves of Evan Stone? So, if you can handle Ed being on screen a lot, you may find a lot to like here. This is a brief description of the scene by cast:

Scene One: Carmen, obviously the biggest name on the dvd, was a cute 20 year old Puerto Rican gal making her first porno here. She is the blond covergirl with the large implants. While most of her work has been with Digital Sin, she just signed a contract with Adam & Eve who I'm sure, given their track record, will make her look much better than here (but she was still cute here). In any case, she showed off her body, gave a little tease, and then had oral, and straight sex before Ed dumped his condom's contents on her. They went at it once more with a bit of oral and her masturbating afterwards. The scene lasted nearly an hour! Whew! The sex wasn't bad for an Ed movie either. Scene Two: Fujiko, a ~29 year old Japanese woman who's been around the block a lot, took care of Ed in oral and straight sex fashion. She's not really my type and her performance wasn't optimal here but okay for those who like such women. I just kept reminding myself that Carmen's scene lasted nearly an hour, over and over again. Scene Three: Kimmy was up next. She's from the Philippines and not exactly a bad looking gal. The oral and straight sex was mechanical though. Carmen's scene lasted nearly an hour... Scene Four: Leanna, an attractive brunette with a large, round ass, had a solo scene here that was actually pretty warm. She was also from Puerto Rico and while not as picture perfect as Carmen, well worth watching again. Summary: Okay, I'm not exactly what you'd call an Ed Powers fan but sometimes he does provide women you'd want to watch more than once. This dvd is plainly marketed to fans of Carmen and with her career taking off, this will likely sell a lot of copies.If you buy or rent this one, do yourself a favor and don't skip Leanna's scene since I think she had a lot of fun here which none of the others could honestly claim. Given that the dvd had well over two hours of material, with half of it being either Carmen's scene or Leanna, this one actually merits a rental status for most people. Fans of Carmen will probably want to buy it and consider it recommended due to the length of her scene if not the quality.
