Cast: Ginger Lynn, Jennifer Noxt, Troy Trainer, Tom Byron, Sharon Mitchell, Harry Reems, Barbara Dare, Jamie Gillis, Peter North, Joey Silvera, Lisa DeLeeuw, Kevin James, Paul Thomas, Francois Papillon, Nikki Knights, Kim Alexis, Herschel Savage
Length: 104 minutes
Date of Production: 4/03 (the compilation itself)
Extra's: behind the scenes for If You Only Knew (not a Ginger Lynn movie), three unrelated sex scenes, photogallery, trailers, double sided DVD cover
Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in 1.33:1 ratio full frame color. Often enough, the scenes looked better lit than many current Vivid releases but most had problems with grain or a soft focus. Luckily, each of the scenes looked better here than any place else I've seen them. The audio was presented in stereo/monaural and sounded a bit hollow but generally not bad either.

Body of Review: Ginger Lynn (Allen) was one of the first porn superstars. During the mid 1980's, she all but made a little company known as Vivid and her legions of fans followed her every move, myself included. She wasn't voluptuous, possessing a lean body instead, she wasn't large-chested, instead using what nature gave her to full effect, and it was her girl-next-door look that impressed most fans. During her initial rein, she made a whole lot of movies with Vivid and they still own the rights so every once in awhile, the company releases a compilation. Some of these are better than others but all of them have a lot of Ginger so they're worth a look. In Deep Inside Ginger Lynn, Vivid gives us a look at a host of Ginger's earliest scenes and here's a breakdown of those scenes by original movie, director, year of release and cast:
Scene One: Project Ginger: D-Bruce Seven: 1985: Ginger gets a free dance from Jennifer before Troy and Tom join them in the living room. The sex was fairly tame with oral and straight the mainstays after a prolonged dance sequence.
Scene Two: Club Ginger: D-Bruce Seven: 1986: Ginger and Sharon team up to take care of Tom. Ginger took a bit of anal and both Tom and Sharon allowed Ginger to stuff their asses with anal beads. This was a pretty good scene.
Scene Three: Ginger's Sex Asylum: D-Bruce Seven: 1985: Ginger and Harry had a scene together. Funny, I remember this one from when it came out so many years ago. It only had her giving him a quick blowjob and her taking anal beads in her butt yet it seemed much better in the olden days of porn.
Scene Four: Ginger And Spice: D-Paul Thomas: 1986: Ginger, Barbara, Jamie, Peter and Joey had a big orgy on a couch. It was another scene that is tame compared to more modern scenes but still warm in how they all had fun.
Scene Five: Ginger: D-Scotty Fox: 1984: This was one of Ginger's first releases and had her doing Tom while Lisa watched (and masturbated). It was a pretty warm scene if limited in terms of what took place.
Scene Six: Poonies: D-Bruce Seven: 1985: Ginger and Kevin had a scene that started off with her all tied up while he enjoyed her talents. It was oral and straight only with lousy music (almost every scene here could claim lousy music) but her hip grinding action was really hot.
Scene Seven: The Ginger Effect: D-Bruce Seven: 1985: Ginger, in a dominating role, did both Tom and Peter after leading them around on leashes (they had collars and were on their knees). This was another scene that had powerful memories for me, regardless of how technically weak it was. Yum!
Scene Eight: I Dream Of Ginger: D-Scotty Fox: 1985: Ginger took care of Paul while she was dressed like a hooker on a couch. Most of the sex was oral with a touch of vaginal.
Scene Nine: World According To Ginger: D-Bruce Seven: 1986: Ginger and Francois had a scene with her wearing a wig on some Astroturf in a really weak setting. It had oral and straight with her jerking him off to completion. Fair.
Scene Ten: Ginger Snaps: D-Paul Thomas: 1987: Ginger, Nikki, Kim and Herschel had a scene (sort of-one of the gals masturbated while Ginger, Herschel and Alexis boned on a bed). The sex was oral and straight sex only but a bit of warmth.
Summary: I like Ginger and while I would have preferred a jam-packed DVD full of Ginger scenes with an audio commentary by her and cool extras, I know that's not going to happen. I maintain that Vivid would be treating their customers with more respect if they clearly labeled the scenes on the outside of the DVD box and in advertising but then I'd be out of a job, yes? I think the package is worth a rating of Recommended to any fan of this cutie but it wasn't her best work to date.
