Extra's: My favorite extra tends to be a director's commentary since it gives some insight as to what the director is thinking about but this one was as limited as others from Sin City (hint to Sin City: those of us who listen to the commentaries want to hear what you have to say, we also watch the movie without the commentary when it's time to jerk off, trust me). The commentary came out of the left channel and the story out of the right channel when it was turned on so you could listen to both at the same time. I liked the seven interviews with the female performers that totaled about 20 minutes. It started off with Lauren Phoenix, then had Rose, Alaura Eden, Victoria Givens, and Ava Vincent herself. There was also a 9.5 minute long Behind the Scenes featurette by Jason Silver, a short written biography for each of the cast (men and women alike), some trailers, a photogallery, a compilation of the pop shots, and spam.

Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color, as expected. The picture looked pretty good although grain and video noise were present more often than not, sometimes impacted the fleshtones and other colors. The audio was presented in 2.0 stereo English, not the advertised 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround on the DVD box cover. While a disappointment, the basic sound was decent enough that it wasn't a problem, I just hate it when the box cover is wrong.

Body of Review: Sin City is one of the up and comers in the feature porn business. They have had a number of decent directors over the years but budgets have always been a bit leaner than the bigger companies. As the company continues its upward spiral, they have been releasing little gems like Midnight Caller, a story about a night time female radio host who seems to thrive on telling callers that they need to cool down, even as she heats up. Here's what the box cover said: "Naked, Raw, Live Sex.
This is a story of a late night talk radio hostess with some dark little secrets buried deep inside her closet... A well respected radio personality with a very stringent point of view on sexual behavior who, in reality, leads a decadent lifestyle where perversion is rule #1. To Priscella, sucking cock or eating a hot, wet pussy was only an appetizer to the main course...which included anal orgies, sweaty groupings, and anything else she could imagine. Nightly, this conservative chat show hostess leads her listeners down the path of righteousness while licking her producer into a frenzy...it's all about tinsel town after dark where secrets, lies, and role playing are just a piece of the puzzle that keeps them tuning in and turning on...night after night." If that sounds interesting to you, read the following scene breakdowns by cast, noting that condoms were not in every scene and there was a lot of fun going on:

Scene One: Rose, a tiny Asian gal with big implants, and Dick, the kid of the famous comedian, had a scene in bed together. He went down on her after they had some foreplay and she soon returned the favor. They screwed a little bit and he pulled out to pop on her chest. This was a weak scene in most ways.

Scene Two: Alaura, a hot brunette with sweet curves, and Dez, had a scene in the kitchen. It started off erotically but soon became pretty warm with the chemistry evident between them. Bud explains on the commentary track that she's semi-retired, only working with him in scenes at this point, and that explained a lot to me. He went down on her and she gave him some mighty fine head in return, working him into a frenzy. Both of them were far more sexually skilled than the previous duo and the heat was evident from the get go. It ended when he jerked off onto her face, which she took with pleasure.

Scene Three: Lauren, the true lead of the movie (not Ava), showed her lean body with blondish hair and nice smile before doing Dale at home. She wore fishnet stockings and a leather outfit, dominating the pretty boy as she bent him to her will. He went down on her and she gave some oral in return (giving an awesome shot of her from behind, bending over) before they boned in several positions. It ended when he jerked off to her face.

Scene Four: Victoria, the blonde with the large implants, did Eric in the studio. She blew him and he boned her in return. She rode him hard and wet, actually squirting at one point (I still say it's urinating) and the scene ended when he jerked off onto her abdomen. I always hate seeing her scars (the large ones underneath the breasts) since a camisole could hide them so nicely. The scene was okay though on technical terms.

Scene Five: Jackie, a gal with a nice figure and a girl next-door face, and studly Barrett, had a scene in bed together. He went down on her and she returned the favor, giving him a combination blowjob and handjob to finish him off. The sex was limited here but fun nonetheless.

Scene Six: Ava, the cute blonde on the front DVD cover, and Lauren, had a warm lesbian scene in the office that used no vibrators or toys, just their various body parts. Lauren made the first move and Ava ran with it, each getting some oral loving in on the other and both appearing to get off. Did they orgasm? I think so, from the flushed look on their faces to the erect nipples to the slight goose bumps on their arms, I'm comfortable that they popped off (both of them too).

Summary: I thought Midnight Caller was acute little flick with some real replay value if you like the cast. I tempted to give it a higher rating but the three weaker scenes have me suggesting it as a Rent It unless you like all the gals here. It came close to taking the next step but ultimately, only Lauren and Alaura's scenes were worth checking out time and time again. Still, you might like it more than I did, as an unpolished gem if nothing else, so pick up a copy when you see a sale of rent it to verify our tastes.
