Extra's: The best extra was the 18 minutes of extra footage. Seeing even more of the women prance around on stage is always a good thing for us voyeurs. There was also a contestant list, filmographies of the cast, five photogalleries, a list of the various award winners (for several contests), a section on the two AVN awards the Nudes A Poppin show has won for Evil Angel (they're overdue since the last one was in the mid 1990's), biographies of John Stagliano and Tricia Devereaux, and some websites.

Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color, as always. Keeping in mind that unlike a porn shoot, this festival is an event taking place in real time, and you don't get "do overs", it looked pretty good. The natural lighting of the sun in the outdoor pageant was an improvement over the usual indoor gonzo work that Buttman makes. The camera crew was once again Mr. Stagliano, Tricia Devereaux, and Big John, with each of them getting their own perspective. I think the out of focus and other problems were better than in Volume 15, although not as marked an improvement as it was to the earlier volumes in the series I've seen over the years. The audio was in stereo English with no true separation and minimal dynamic range although the music wasn't as distorted as the last volume.
Body of Review: Those of you who are naturalists, or nudists, have probably heard of a little place in Roselawn, Indiana called the Ponderosa Sun Club. Every year on the third Sunday of July and August, the club holds what amounts to one of the biggest competitions for strippers in the United States, Nudes A Poppin'. Evil Angel CEO John Stagliano has been recording the festival for years and in the latest release, Buttman At Nudes A Poppin' 16, he, his wife Tricia Devereaux, and Adara Michaels, join hosts Ron Jeremy, Sunset Thomas, and Andy Dick for a swinging good time. The last episode I saw, Volume 15, was a lot of fun to watch and this one was just as good, if not better.
The show is essentially a home movie by Mr. Stagliano as he and his crew (sometimes referred to as the Three Pornketeers) roam the grounds of the club, taping as much footage as they can get. There wasn't any actual sex taking place (at least on video) but this event is a babe watchers paradise since there were so many fine looking gals of all shapes and sizes to appreciate. I suppose I wish there had been full dance sets of the top dancers but then the spontaneity would be lost and the show likely diminished. Watching Mr. Stagliano work the dancers as a true aficionado of female ass was like magic in the sense that they responded to his kind words by displaying their goodies even more explicitly than they might otherwise be inclined to do. If you like watching babes strip completely and/or flash everything they have, this blows away the junk like "Girls Gone Wild" and other tamer shows on the market.
Summary: The tough part of my job is to rate this type of DVD. It's difficult because consumers wanting sex will hate it, those who expect flawless beauties, of which there certainly were a few, will be grumpy that not all the ladies were perfect, those expecting anything other than a voyeurs paradise may well be disappointed. In short, I have to go with my own gut feeling and suggest this DVD as Recommended. The technical issues have been getting better in this series for a long time, the extras are getting more complete and the fun is just as plentiful. I suppose I'd still like to have an audio commentary or even optional subtitles to help keep track of the performers, and maybe something indicating where the professional dancers worked (at least something along those lines) but I think there was an awful lot of material presented here and fans of the show could easily consider this the best volume of the series to date (although, to be up front, I've only seen a three others). Check it out if you have any doubts but it's tough to go wrong with this one.
