Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in 1.33:1 ratio full frame color and looked well below the standard of quality Evil Angel is known for. The lighting was often either too low, had no filler lighting to balance the scenes out, or relied on the natural light that was not placed properly for the scenes. The result was too much grain and video noise with a ton of mosquito artifacts present when they simply didn't have to be. As often as not, the picture looked like something made ten years ago by amateurs; not what I'd expect of John given his excellent body of work in the past. The audio was also too low in many cases which added to the lower than average quality and no separation between channels was noticed. The dvd transfer was okay given the source material but I expect more from John and Evil Angel.

Body of Review: Evil Angel is arguably the best-known producer of gonzo porn in the domestic industry. For years, the company has strived for a certain look, a certain "feel", that it could call it's own. For the most part, they have succeeded in establishing themselves as one of the top three companies in the genre, some might even argue they are number one (if price is not a consideration). With all the success the company and its contract director's have had, they are not content to rest on their laurels, always trying to strive for something better. The latest such attempt is a title knows as Crack Her Jack 2, the sequel to a tragically weak John Leslie movie from last year, Crack Her Jack 1. The premise is that John is a voyeur who directs the action openly, sometimes getting in the way of the fun, and relies on poor picture quality to make a statement. Exactly what the statement is has never been answered (just because I think they guy has made dozens of great movies doesn't mean I give him a pass when he fucks up) but at least this time, the cast was superior in every way to most releases in the gonzo format. If you like the cast as much as I do, you'll want to read the following breakdown of the scenes by cast:

Scene One: Dana, wearing the same racing outfit she wore during the 2004 AEE Show, showed off her shapely ass for the camera, as she discussed how she liked having her ass spanked and squeezed at a kitchen counter. She listened to John's comments and began masturbating in a tease sequence for the camera. For the record, it's her ass on the middle of the front DVD cover and her natural breasts and face were shown in the upper right hand side as well. It's difficult to believe that such a small gal could have such a perfect ass but I know she gained many fans while at the show in this outfit (she has reportedly left the business after having worked with Darren on this shoot, now that he has come down with HIV). In any case, Darren and Steve had a scene with her on the couch as they played with her body and she played right back. After lots of oral and straight sex, she almost had me thinking she'd take them anally but it never happened. The sexual play was pretty hot, despite the extremely poor technical values of the picture.

Scene Two: Cris, a lean brunette with a hot ass (not as big as Dana's but like a compact version of it), wore a stripper cop uniform as she walked into a room with Jayna in it. Cris was on the lower left hand side of the front DVD cover and Jayna was the hot blonde beside her. Manuel walked in on them after they had plenty of tease and they took turns sucking his penis, both showing a lot of energy. The picture here wasn't nearly as poor as in the last scene but it lagged far behind other gonzo companies in terms of quality. The sex here was also limited to straight after oral but the gals did seem to enjoy riding him hard in several positions. It ended when he jerked his load onto their faces but they spit it out after some cum swapping. I thought the scene was very warm for all its limitations though.

Scene Three: Katja, the ultra hot redhead that also wore the same outfit the at this year's AEE show, teased the camera a lot as she pranced about in that black & white striped convict uniform (she was on the front cover on the upper left hand side). Her appeal is universal and I doubt if Manuel or Mark, knew how persuasive she could be. It wasn't just that she gave great head or that her tight, rounded ass was so perfect but her whole attitude towards sex was enough to give me wood for a week after seeing her scene here. She fucked both of them, taking anal like an established professional but also someone who really enjoyed herself. The DP wasn't as good since she had less leverage to work with (in the single dick action, she aggressively met their thrusts like she was in charge), but it was still fun to watch. It ended with weak pop shots (high on quantity, low on distance) but she sucked them after they blew their nuts, something fans seem to like a lot.

Scene Four: Katsumi, the Asian hotty that didn't rate being put on the front DVD cover, warmed up by masturbating with anal toys while being watched by Steve and Brian. I liked her lingerie and the picture looked better than the other scenes (at least initially) but while her oral skills were only fair, her ability to take a penis inside her pussy and ass was exceptional. They did her every which way but loose and soon were giving her a DP before they jerked off onto her face. I think this scene was something of a add on after the DVD was planned since the whole attitude taken towards it was somehow less compelling than the other scenes but I liked it enough to watch a few times.

Summary: I think the heat of most of these scenes was undeniable, regardless of the piss poor quality of the picture and sound. If you can put up with John's rambling along with those poor technical qualities, you'll want to at least Rent It, although fans like me wouldn't part with their copies for anything. I think Katja, Dana, Cris and Jayna were particularly hot and even Katsumi wasn't bad. I'd still suggest you rent it first though as the DVD format makes the picture look even worse and higher quality pictures are what most fans are asking for.
