Extra's: The best extra for me was the 51.5 minutes of bonus footage with such notables as Justine, Lola, Katja Kassin, Charisma, Monica, Lonnie, Envy, Kimberly, Sarah Blake, Michelle, Lea DeMae, and others, mostly in an interview style. The picture broke up starting with Lea's interview and that kind of sucked since I figure something was said that kept her from being chosen. There was also 14.5 minutes of Behind the Scenes footage with the cast. There was also a photogallery but the first two features were the best of the batch.

Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in the usual 1.33:1 full frame color, as expected. For the most part, the picture was clear with accurate flesh tones and decent camera angles but the lighting wasn't always great. The audio was presented in stereo English with minimal separation and limited dynamic range but overall it was okay to listen to.

Body of Review: In recent years, television has been besieged by reality TV. From the Survivor shows to all the assorted junk that falls under that category, the public has responded well to such shows so it makes sense that porn would follow suit, chasing that almighty dollar. While I'm not exactly a huge fan of such shows, I did find an example of a fun contest on DVD, Cousin Stevie's Pussy Party Vol. One. The rules were simple; five judges would rate the eight gals on a variety of topics from lingerie to best body, to best sexual ability and how they worked at getting off the others. Filmed in orgy style instead of a linear fashion, after Stevie made his announcement, they all jumped in head over heels, so to speak.

The first scene that took place after everyone was introduced had Stevie uncovering a bunch of sex toys and body lotions. The gals all grabbed whatever was handy and broke off into a variety of groups. The initial footage focused largely on Lola, Katja Kassin, and Eva, with Lola donning a strap on dildo and the gals taking to it like a stripper to cash. The others were by no means left on the sidelines but the camera kept going back to this trio of hotties. Granted, it was for good reason, since Katja and Lola are two of the hottest gals in porn these days, but the others certainly had their own flair as well.

The next chapter, since the show wasn't broken down by scenes like most porn, had Monica, Lonnie, and others like Charisma, getting really nasty with the toys. Katja did some ass to mouth (ATM) and the toys got larger and larger as the scenes progressed, several using neon lights, which looked very cool (I want one myself!). The gals spanked one another, screamed in orgasmic fury, and I liked some of the split screen effect employed at times. There were also tender moments where the gals rubbed and kissed, teasing one another into higher delights as they masturbated or otherwise engaged another partner too.

As the show continues, Lola continued to get a lion's share of the screen time but Sarah and Mari also came more into view. Katja looked to be the most willing to take toys up her sweet ass, as well as show some gaping for the fans, and I'm not just saying that because she was my favorite performer here. None of the gals were slackers here but it quickly became evident that Katja and Lola were the only two in leaders of the pack. I thought it funny when the camera would slip away from the gals in the orgy to show one or more of the judges rapidly marking down some comment or two since there was no way to truly judge any of them while everything was going on. I kind of wished that Lea DeMae had been a participant here but the cast was solid in most respects and the addition of even more babes might've been too much for me to handle.

This was more of an orgy with a twist and the winner was someone that was certainly a hotty, from Texas even, but not anywhere near as sexually energetic as Katja or Lola. I would've liked to have seen if the judges had actually written anything down since the cameraman had a better bird's eye view of the action and only the editor knows what was cut out for the final DVD. I liked the extras and perhaps future contests will be split up so as to capture the action a bit better (and allow for a better evaluation of the contestants), but I can honestly say that this was the best lesbian release I've seen in a long, long time.

Summary: I'm a fan of some of the performers here and I like watching lesbian action that is heavy on toy usage so this was easily worth a Highly Recommended from me. The combination of sexual heat and energy, with a solid cast of talented hotties, made Cousin Stevie's Pussy Party Vol. One worth searching out. I just hope future volumes address the minimal issues I had and work on the DVD mastering since those few minutes of extra footage were likely as valuable as the rest of the show.
