Extra's: The extras were pretty solid this time. My favorite was the ten-minute long Behind the Scenes feature by Jason Silver. It started off talking with Kelly Kline's husband, Raymond and Ivy, the make up girl with an ample chest. It then showed some of the cast and crew goofing around. There was also the usual batch of biographies for the entire cast, interviews with the women, a pop shot compilation, trailers, a photogallery and spam. In general, it was a nice value-added package of extras.

Audio/Video Quality: The picture was presented in the usual 1.33:1 ratio full frame color as expected from a modern porno. Like Volume 8, the picture was lacking in many ways with grain, video noise, soft focus and other visual flaws the norm rather than the exception. It also looked like they wanted to give the show a film look without the expense and that rarely works out well for a low budgeted porno. The audio was presented in the standard 2.0 stereo English but the separation between the channels was limited and the dynamic range about equal to a home video set up. Neither the audio or video were the reason for the lack of heat but they sure didn't help my enjoyment of the movie.

Body of Review: Every company seems to be focusing their efforts on releasing titles about young (but legal) gals having sex. Forgetting that younger gals are usually far less skilled sexually, the chase to provide the barely touched flesh is rampant in the porn world and Sin City's latest volume in this field is Barely 18 #9. Like Volume 8, the show provides gals that are probably in their early twenties having sex with men old enough to be their uncle (at least) using various scenarios. Here's what the box cover advertised: 'Young, dumb and covered in cum, that's the way we like it! Five naughty little teen twats just blew into town, and they're begging to get jammed, banged, stuffed, and ass fucked raw for our cameras. Our guys can't wait to get inside these fresh young cock sluts, ripping off their dripping wet panties and hammering their tight little cunts, mouths and asses with massive, throbbing fuck muscles like there's no tomorrow! Our nasty young nymphos get their just desserts when their rosy cheeks get completely drenched with load after load of hot, steamy cumshakes. It's an all out fuckfest with the young and the hairless, and you won't want to miss it!" In all, it had similar limitations to earlier volumes but after catching Saul's Take of this one, I felt obligated to see if director Christian Knight had improved his show. I think it was pretty generic this time too but if you're interested, read the following breakdown of the scenes by cast:

Scene One: Haley, a brunette with that girl-next-door look you'll find in a small town strip club, and Anthony, the kind of guy you'd expect to be strong-arming tourists in the dark alley's or Europe, had a scene on a couch. While not convincingly close to 18 years old, I'd suggest that she was closer than many others in the jizz bizz in that regard. He went down on her as she gave the mechanical moans so many newbies use to make us think they're having fun and he fed her some pussy juice-soaked fingers to shut her up. Her oral skills were lacking but that often means a gal will be great at the actual boning. Unfortunately, this was not the case with either the vaginal or anal sex. She took whatever he gave her but that was it. It seemed like the meter was running and she didn't care to be there. He even had to hold her head down to take the facial at the end of the scene.

Scene Two: Kelly, one of the cutest newcomers to the business, started off her scene by masturbating on a bed. She didn't seem to be comfortable doing so but shined when Talon inadvertently walked in the door. He looked like Freddie Prince Jr and the two looked great together (I haven't seen her work without her husband very much) as they played with one another's bodies. Each spent some time giving the other oral pleasure and while neither was great, this part of the scene shined for me. The two then boned and she made an effort to participate more fully than usual but it still fell short of where I think she needs to be. As she gains experience, she does better all the time so I have hope for her later movies. The ending was especially weak though as she tensed up like a board when he jerked his load onto her face (clamping down her eyes, mouth and tightening up doesn't convince me she wants it there).

Scene Three: Porsha, looking a bit like a trust fund baby in her metallic pink bikini, sat out by the pool when she was approached by Marcos, who looked like a pool boy. He gave her some special service to her pussy and she proved she was no dilettante by giving him a decent blowjob by the pool. She seemed to have fun as he took her pussy and hammered away, the most fun of the movie by this point in fact, and her vocals helped make the scene a good one. She even left her mouth open during the pop shot and gave it some post orgasmic loving for fans of that kind of thing.

Scene Four: Dani, the lead gal of the movie that can be seen on the front DVD cover, had a scene by the fireplace with TJ. She gave the best oral of the movie, using her hand, eyes, and slobber to make him fully experience the joys of her talents, before he reciprocated in a decent manner. While he wasn't the best of the guys (he's still new to the business), he showed some potential here. They screwed in a few positions and it's easy to see why she was on the cover; her performance was the best of the bunch, meeting his thrusts, acting as though she liked sex, and stuff like that come to mind. In the end, she opened her mouth, her eyes and rubbed his dick all over her face, showing she wasn't going to dodge it. Whew!

Scene Five: Randi, another brunette with a lean body and a few tattoos, had a scene on the bed with Steven after they kissed somewhat passionately. Her matching pink outfit said "Joe" that we learned in the BTS feature was short for "Joe Momma", a bit of word play by this now single cutie. Steven was skilled as he went down on her and she showed a bit of enthusiasm initially yet her skills have not been fully developed yet, making the scene fall kind of flat at times. They screwed in a few positions but it was another meter maid sort of deal and he jerked off to her abdomen at the end.

Summary: With one good scene and one decent scene surrounded by weak scenes, the best I can give this one is a rating of Rent It and even then only to fans of the cast. If you're looking for very young, but legal, gals having sex, you can find better releases on the market than Barely 18 #9. The technical limitations, the lack of chemistry and energy, and overall feel of the movie contributed to the problems here and even fans of the cast will be disappointed by their performances in most cases here.
